Well this is it sitting on the standard wheels. I fully intended putting turinis on when I bought the car but since then I've sort of moved away from the idea. I fancied something different, probably black rims but a lot of these wheels only good when they fill the arches out. I envisage I will...
I love the standard anthracites I've got on the car but fancy a set of something else to put some tyres on and swap over now and again. I know there's the usual choice of turinis but what else would you go for. No outrageous colours please. The car is on standard height suspension so something...
I painted them Chris, I cleaned them up on the rotary brass brush first, primer then did the in alloy paint, it's supplied by autosmart the valet supply people, it's really good paint. I left it to dry a couple of days then just put a cloth over the heads when tightening with the socket to stop...
I've posted a couple of threads with the product of my efforts on the Cup I bought a couple of months ago. I've done all the paint correction stuff and finished the bodywork after having a new bonnet fitted and sprayed due to the usual leading edge rust. Had the front end painted and re striped...
I've finished the interior and this week I've spent every night in the garage with the Spin Doctor rotary on the outside and well pleased with the results. Today I've had the steamer on the door shuts and they have come up like new so just got engine bay to do now. It's generally very good but...
I'm just intrigued to know whether my gas struts are as good as they should be. I have just swapped them for another used set and there seems little difference in the way in which the hatch closes. The struts hold the hatch fully open without a problem, there is some damping and support right...
I made myself some chip protectors for the rear quarters in front of the arches. I did this on my other 2 clios but forgot to take any pics. I bought a roll of the adhesive stoneguard film off eBay, other items are a cereal box to make a template, modelling knife, scissors, pen, IPA cleaning...
I've spent the last few evenings with the rotary polisher. Racing Blue is a fantastic colour to work with, seems a lot easier to correct than the red of my Trophy.
I did the sides today, especially satisfying taking the side trims off and giving it a good fettle. Here's a few photos of my...
I've owned the car a couple of months now, the condition of it inside and out was very good when I bought it with the only downsides being the bonnet which had the classic front edge rust, half a dozen car park dings, some road rash on the front bumper and a couple of scrapes here and there on...
I'm also keen to get the right stripe finish, the ones I'm taking off are more of a satin/matt white rather than high gloss, now whether that's due to weathering or not I don't know. If anyone can comment ?
Can anyone recommend a source for the white cup stripes please. I'm presuming I could possibly go to any vinyl place really but wondered if anyone has any recommendations
A bit linked to the previous post on powder coating but I'm wanting a nice untreated finish and wondered if anyone had gone for a simple bead blasting and whether it presents and problems to the mating surfaces etc. Also in removing and replacing are any new gaskets or seals needed
