ok just looked it up in the handbook (mk2 version), the stop light light up with either - oil light (check your level), temp light (check coolant level and temp gauge), brakes (!) (check pads) or battery (er check battery)
Steve make sure your brake pad sensor (if fitted) is plugged in ok as...
some tyres stick out a bit more than others even though the sizes are the same. Best way to check to see if it is your tyres rubbing is to use some chalk on the tyre edges/ corners , have a drive then look to see if any chalk has been rubbed off ;)
Cant belive it!!!!!!!!! my 2nd remote stopped working this morning...............

Demon tweeks and other similar places sell funnels to extend the filler pipe, they also sell replacement fuel caps which you screw onto wider arches (ooh nice alloy ones)
i also made a mess of the key when seperating the 2 bits, bloody thing wouldnt slide as per pic in manual so i prised it apart and took a chunk out of it :(

To get the stereo to work with the ign off you just need to connect the switched live (yellow wire) to the constant live (red wire) with a scotcklock
The hu should illuminate when switched on anyway, shouldnt need the lights on
did you get the pics ok? you could take the system to your local exhaust fitter or powerflow dealer to get it welded (cost about a tenner) and they should be able to fit it to your car
not sure about a 172 zorst to be honest, it is possible to remove / refit a 1 piece standard zorst by lowering the rear axle, i found it easier to cut it when it was removed and use a metal sleeve to join the 2 halves back together when i had it refitted
When i fitted a magnex to my 172 the standard system was cut near the rear axle. When i had the standard one refitted a sleeve was used to join the 2 together again.
I had a cat replaced last week with the magnex still on the car, this made no difference, dealers dont seem to mind non standard...
hmm might see if the non renault one will fit in the renault bracket under the seat, should be the same size.
Did you run a permanent live directly to the battery as the handbook says for the hu or use the iso block?
I have an Alpine tda 7587r headunit with a 6 disc changer, the clio however also uses an Alpine changer. Is it possible to buy an adapter so i can use the factory changer with my Alpine h/u and is there an adapter to connect the h/u to the steering wheel control?
