My ABS light came on a few weeks ago, although the brakes seam to be fine on mine.
Ive booked it into a renault specialist garage to have a 77,000 service done, and to check/fix the ABS. I think they have some diagnostic equipment to help eliminate the fault. Ill keep you posted with how i get...

The haynes manual says - If a fault develops and the ABS lights up - take it to a renault dealer for diagnostic. Might be the best way other than cleaning all the sensors.
Cheers All.

Dont know, ill have a look at the haynes manual tonight.
Should have been more clear - Im not upgrading to a Induction Kit - but keeping with the original airbox and replacing the element. Going to go for a green filter so far.
Hi all.
My car has treated me to a visual performance of its ABS light yesterday. Tryed reseting the electronics by removing the battery, which had gone flat anyway - and changed it too a nice new one but its still onski.

Plus - Whats better replacement filter...
Cheers Lads.
There is only so much I can do, and I dont really know my way around my motor yet, (Owned it a month now) and getting a good manual of any kind for a Williams is proving quite hard. I want to keep the service book full of nice stamps too.
Found a garage in the yellow pages...
Can anyone recommend a good specialist garage that can be trusted to service a Williams 3, Located in or around West Yorkshire?
This is going to be the first service that I have given it, and I don’t want to have dealership trainees learning on it. Need a proper job doing.
Cheers all

Dont know mate, but as I is a local lad too you pal (Brighouse). Let me know if you find any independant renault specialists that are good. Cos mine is now due a service - and I carnt decide if I should give it to a main dealer or a renault specialist. Can dealers be trusted with a 8yr old car ...
Top one pal. That R5 looks the buisness. Ive just bought some old magazine reviews for the williams. Nice to hear what they said about them when new. Ill scan them in and hopefully add it to the homepage menu , when I get chance.

Did you have that size on before or was it running on 185/55s ? What do you think to em ?

Hi Chris,
This is the stuff i use -
http://www.dinitrol.co.uk/automotive.htm
It looks complex at first but all the info is there you will need for stone chip and cavity wax.
The rubbery stuff is factory applied called - anti stone chip.
Halfords sell the stuff, but i think you will need a compressor and spray gun to use it. Ill find out the name of the stuff ive used in the past. And post tomorrow.
Normally you clean back to good metal, remove all traces of...
Thats a good price for a Williams. I was a bit upset with mine the day i washed it. Found a few things id missed when giving it the once over.
I tell you - the next time i buy a car ill take my bucket and a sponge.
Dont forget to check on the inside of the wheel arch - where the seal...
Im collecting a bit of research on known krusty spots. Been i a few scrappies looking @ clios to find where they go. Just to help prevent any future problems.
Ive recently bought a Williams 3, and am new to this game. Rusty rear wheel arches are quite common ive found. (see my post on rust spots) My cars previous owner had the arches done 2 years ago, (just starting to reappear, Ill nip that in the bud soon). The respray went up to the roof line to...
