Get the bloody ABS sensors off the wheel hub? Took all the wheels off undid the screw holding it in place and the buggers just wont move!

I dont want to pay a fortune at Renault for them to use a bit of elbow grease for them to turn round and say that aint the problem.

Please help - my brakes are shocking at the moment!

if they are stuck in there then your fooked mate .................nothing (except for luck) will move them !! im afriad youll probubally break them tryin to get them out , you could try soaking them over night in WD40.....but the odds are against you ! looks like youll be buying new ones !! sorry!

why do you need to remove them anyway ?

Need to clean them and hopefully that will sort the ABS warning light - I know how much of a rip off it would be taking it down to a garage and letting them play with the wires!

My ABS light came on a few weeks ago, although the brakes seam to be fine on mine.
Ive booked it into a renault specialist garage to have a 77,000 service done, and to check/fix the ABS. I think they have some diagnostic equipment to help eliminate the fault. Ill keep you posted with how i get on.

yes you can buy them individually, no idea how much they are but im sure would be an O/E part only & id say you wouldnt get much change out of £50 each !

Thanks northy_com Like to hear what they say!

Fathered that isnt as bad as I was expecting! Surely they Cant charge me zillions for fitting?!

I had to get one for mine, stupidly expensive, cant quite remember but i think more like £100 - 150!!

When they ABS kicks in do u get a nasty grindy feeling from the pedal? never had ABS before and it doesnt quite feel right, as if its broken or gonna break if i keep brake on.

Yeh with abs it feels like its falling to bits under your foot.

***Update on mine*** - Its currently decided to fix itself over the last 3 days its been working fine - Result!

Surely that means it has to be faulty electrics somewhere as if it was a knackered sensor it wouldnt be working all the time?!?!

£100-£150 ?? holy mary mother of jesus <Illegitimate child apperantly !! glad i aint ever had to buy one !!.......im sure they aint that much....ill give em a ring....just outta Curiosity !!
