Any tips on what home made or purchased workstations are available to run SolidWorks for around £500-£600 all in? Medium sized builds, no FEA or simulation required. I'm out of touch with computer specs these days and the ones we run in the office are £2,000 + so It's hard to judge what will do...
If it's a 172 Yozza race back box then you can drill out the rivets and pull the tip out. Then simply re-pack and pop rivet back together - it will sound much quieter and lest raspy!
Bit of a long shot but has anyone ever done this with any luck? I have previously done a complex CAD model in SolidWorks when the motherboard fried itself. Rather than buy the same one I bought an upgrade and formatted everything like a plonker (this is going back 4-5 years). Is there any chance...
I've not been into detailing for 4-5 years now, any recommendations on wax to use for dark metallic blue and a budget of £50. Looking for medium durability so maximum gloss and wet look ideally. The car has already been polished when I bought it but not heavily sealed with a gloss finish, not...

Basically my insurance is up this Monday, tax and MOT are due on the 31st - I want a new sports road car so this needs to budge. For this weekend only I'm open to...

Mine is of very similar spec to this and made 212 on Pauls rollers, so readings are pretty much spot on. Bet you loved the drive back home with the ITB's ;)
Cracking little car this! The engine is very strong and tidy on track, I took Boycey on his first track day with it a while back. Get some cams installed when you have the cambelt changed, this will be a proper weapon then :)
Ah mate, looks amazing! Best colour out of them all when all polished up like that! I'd put the green diamond back on the front, adds a tiny bit of character to it :)
Any thoughts on these two? Both are short in length and height and chunky in core depth.

Is it possible to install the digital heater control in a 172 cup? I assume the fan blower will need to be swapped too as the cup uses cables to control the heat and direction. Are there any other parts that need to change over? Does the loom connect both types?
Even with stiffer engine mounts, have you allowed for much movement in the box? Looks very tight against the rad and top panel. Does look mint! Might be worth putting anti vibration pads or sound deadning under the box to soften the noise. My home made Ali air box sounded a bit tinny when the...
I've asked him for a price and likewise if he could do a group buy. Will post prices on here if he's willing to post them. I'm only around the corner so will collect mine.
