Well not a massive update this one but i've been messing around with the front bumper just to tidy it up a bit. Began by removing the fog lights and the mounting brackets for them so we can fit some air ducts for the brakes later. Then i cut the grille out of the middle which left me with 2 big...
The scuttle was a bit of a find to be honest mate someone was selling it on valver and needed a quick sale so i got a bit of a bargain. I was told it was a one off and the only one in the uk. Geesus is trying to get some numbers together to get some more made up so he's worth a shout.
As for...
Right its been quite a while since our last post, we've both been keeping our heads down, saving for a big spend up coming late this month. But we have made some progress lately, we've got the starter and ignition switch wired up!
I've been getting really picky with how I want everything to look...
Yeah this is the problem we've got so we've traced the wires back to the relay but since there's no fan switch on the 172 rad we're running an inline switch from Pacet i think it is. Good luck getting it running:)
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Don't know if i've missed it earlier in the thread but whats up with it causing the power to be so down? What you gotta do to get it back on form.
Problem with that is the lenghts of the buckle to the outer mount will be much longer than to the inner mount unless we mount them as we say. Surely we'd want to keep the distances more even so the belt will pull square because as you said they will stretch in the event of an accident
As you can see we have a harness bar which is the correct height for the shoulder straps which we're gonna use. What i was asking was about the lap straps on the tunnel sides of the seat (see red lines on picture).
What do you reckon??
Thank you everyone for your support, nice to hear other people are interested in our efforts. We'll keep everyone informed of all the latest developments :D
I've had my thinking hat on all day trying to think of problems but i can't see any reason not to it makes the angle much less sharp and less stress on the seat
Throttle cable did seem a little wrong when we fitted ours too it was right on the last couple of grooves where it attaches to the throttle body but we tried it and seem to get the full open and close with it set up like that.
Just a bit of a question for anyone who knows about harnesses and the safe ways to mount them. As some of you know we're building a track clio and have recently mounted the seats. Because of the original seats in the clio being mounted to the top of the tunnel we've had to mount the seats very...
The scuttle we got from Dirtydownsouth off valver and apparently its the only one in the country. Don't we feel special! ;)
We've got to drill it for the wipers and we're having a tough time deciding on wether to have a single wiper conversion (lighter, but rubbish) or not.
Hope the arch...
Not much progress this weekend, not even sure if its worth an update really but here we are. First of all our carbon fibre scuttle panel arrived and its beautiful!
We made a bracket and fitted the coolant header tank. We're both very pleased with how it all looks.
We also plated the...
Your more than welcome to bug me all you want, i'll be in the garden doing the last of the welding on the rollcage this weekend so if it'd be any use to you i'll Pm you my mobile number and since the engine is still in the car at the mo i'll be able to talk you through anything that stumps you.
