Thats gorgeous! I love the saxo vts's, I'm currently looking into getting rid of my VX220 to get another VTS. Sorry to hear about what happened to yours, seems a shame to happen to such a nice example
The seat mounts were pretty tough going but we're pleased with the results!
As for a delivery date, err... we're sort of hoping for around my birthday in August. But every time we're brave enough to assess what we've got left to do the list seems almost endless!
Hows...
Another progress report from the weekend.
We have managed to finish off the seat mountings, by welding i the last of the tubes on the passenger side and welding the feet onto the tubing with captive nuts.
Huge thanks to James (James172Cup) for haveing the feet lazer cut for us.
We...
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Lol you have my complete sympathies we fitted the cage then tried to remove them meaning we couldn't get the drill on it square and went straight through on a couple of them wleding them all up took a whole morning and drove me to madness :dead:
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Only just noticed this thread, how blind am I!!!! Coming along a treat loving the look and quality of the work.
Take it you had similar problems to us when removing the rear seat brackets, Pain in the arse job that isn't it lol.
KUTGW
We're having it painted white inside and out as it's a motorsport style car but we're keeping the roof, bonnet, scuttle and rear spoiler in bare carbon fibre.
Dj roberts the bonnet isn't gonna fit as it gets much thicker where the inlet manifold is now so i've gotta cut and rebrace some of...
It certainly sounds like it might be a turbo fault I must admit. Another test that I've found is if you take the inlet hose off the front of the turbo (from air filter) and check the impeller for play. There may be slight play up and down that will be taken out then its spinning and the bearing...
Not much progress made today, but the rest of roll cage tubing turned up so we were able to finish off a few things.
We manage to shape and fit the harness bar. It was a real mission to shape but we are rather impressed with the outcome.
We also managed to finish off the drivers seat...
More progress from today and yesterday, although disappointingly it doesn't look vastly different from before, but its all going to come together soon (we hope)
We started off by shaping both the front seat mounting tubes to the plates on the sills and tunnel, making sure at every step...
Makes no odds how long you press it for the inertia switch works as it has a ball bearing suspended by a magnet to complete the fuel pump circuit in an accident the bearing drops off the magnet breaking the circuit and pressing the button merely picks the bearing back up with the magnet.
Good lad, glad to hear you've finally got the better of it know what you mean about the noisy thing mines propper loud. Get pucs/video's up soon fella.
Right, ok.
Sorry for the lack of updates but not a lot has been happening recently until, we decided to book this week off to hit it hard and get on with it!
Story so far from saturday morning is as follows:
First thing we did was drag it out the garage, have a bit of a tidy up and assess the...
Re: My mk1 track car blog
Stunning job fella it's really starting to come together now not long and it'll be on the road surely. we're putting a din panel where the radio is with the start button in it but obviously thats a long way off as yet, yours looks graet though keep up the good work
The car hasn't been running for ages but as far as i can remember yes it does, and it should really thinking about it, as 1 coil will spark 4 times per revolution and 2 coils will spark twice each every revolution.
We can't think of a way of getting a signal from both coils without bridging them...
Stuff like this is pure treasure and price wise surely it's a sellers market. You could hardly take a look round it and say "sorry fella bit pricey, i've got a few other totally original ones to view that've only done 500miles a year " You want it you'll have to pay what they're asking i reckon.
Good to see your back on track now such good news that it's running now and should be on the road soon. Bet you can't wait. Definately looking like time to start an F4 valver owners club soon.
Keep us posted
Ah!!! That sounds like the car i broke for parts, alloy bonnet was weighed in by the scrappy but i still have the dials. Didn't know if they might be desirable to someone.
I've not really got a number in mind for the weight as I don't want to be disappointed, but I'm going to try and lighten it in every way I can, while still keeping it looking and functioning like a car (to an extent).
After feeling how light the tailgate is we are deifinatly going to get fibre...
Technically anything will fit anything if you're willing to put the work in and cut a lot of the car out. It wouldn't really go as the clio is a transverse engine (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong) and that engine is longetudinal (Sp?) so you'd need some kind of transbox , then there is...
Right, we're trying to keep ourselves busy and keep the project going while we are trying to sort out a generator to do the welding, so not a lot of progress but a few bits and bobs have been done.
We've been playing around making mounts for the ecu, crash switch and coolant header tank, and...
