Spray some AG Engine And Machine Cleaner under the arches and blast away, though I would take the wheels off first as it will allow you to do a better job.
As said the Halfords things don't have enough power to correct paint defects.
You could try Megs Scratch X or the Carlack hand bundle but it is going to be hard work.
Autoglym Super Resin only dusts if you use it wrong! Same with the glass polish
Use less and keep working it until there is little or nothing to remove. Won't dust then.
I don't really have an alternative to use by hand, you could try some Carlack or Klasse.
Looks clean.
How often depends on where you park etc. Best test to see if you car needs claying is to wash it and then with you hand in a clean plastic sandwich back feel if there is things stuck to the paint the washing has not removed. Once or twice a year should be fine for most.
Renault paint is shite ! Never seen bird crap etch like it does on any other car. Seems to cause damage on impact. You will need to use a decent polish to remove the etching or maybe even a wetsand and polish.
I spent most of the day turning the car round to different angles on the drive to try and get the parts I wanted to polish in the shade on mine earlier.
Still my tan is coming on lovely ! lol
Really shocked SRP does not remove them, works for me. Stronger polish then, or wait till it is cooler and rewash again as long as they have not etched to badly it will be ok.
Bear in mind Renault paint is crap and etches easily :(

As long as your sensible all will be fine - bear in mind that by stripping off any products may make your car look worse than before you started anyway before you re polish and wax.
