Is it ok to steam clean your wheel arches, brake calipers and coilovers ect?

My wheels arches, calipers and coilovers are absolutley stinking, is it safe to clean them with a steam cleaner! Seeing it's only water I thought it would be fine? Any horror stories!
I also want to steam clean my engine bay, now other than the battery is the rest safe to steam clean?

Ok how about the whhel arches and all that is under them?

Wheel arches etc should be fine to clean.

Spray some AG Engine And Machine Cleaner under the arches and blast away, though I would take the wheels off first as it will allow you to do a better job.

Dont wash or steam anything in the engine bay as you will be likly to stuff some thing up.
All the under side can be done with a pressure washer. and a bit of scrubbing, imo with a steam cleaner you might go through one of the pipes or wires that are only thin.
