Okay just purchased a trolley jack/stands kit
On a 1997 1.4 where should I place the axel stands? The Haynes manual does not make this clear at all.
I have found the reinforced points to use a trolley jack but dont know where to place the stands. I am gonna have a go at doing my torsion beam...
cheers for the help I will take off the mudguards and maybe trim the corner of the plastic arch guard a little bit.
Yup think I will go for a fairly conservative 35-40mm drop now
(By the way is this a BEN only thread?)

Not even lowered it yet!
Okay calm down a bit.
I fitted my wheels today, 195/45/15 with an et38 offset
They are catching (only on full lock) in 2 places
1- The inside wall is catching at the back on the corner of the mud flap. - Should I trim the corner off with a stanley knife or...

My car had 165/60/14 tyres on rsi alloys as standard. The recommended pressure was 2.2 bar all round (About 22-23 PSi)
Ive now bought 15s with 195/4/15 tyres and theres nothing on the tyre to tell you the pressure.
Cheers

... coz mine has
Took a front wheel off today to check the front suspension strut and I noticed that Ive got vented front brake disks. Is this normal coz I thought these cars had solid disks?
It is a 1.4 S dunno if that means anything
Cheers for any info as I was going to buy...
Im sure Apex only do the kit for the 52mm cars, it says so on their website.
Ive ordered a Spax kit, so if it dont fit it will have to go back.
I found Avo kits which will fit, but they are a bit more than I wanted to pay. If all else fails though I will go with them

I just removed my front wheel and measured the distance between the bolt holes on the front suspension strut. it was 54mm!!
I know this means that some kits (like the damn Apex kit which I was about to buy) wont fit as they are only for cars with a 52mm distance.
I need a kit ASAP coz I am...

Not me obviously as I have no intention of demonstrating the raw power of my 1.4 any time soon.
But I did witness 2 excellent races between other cars at the weekend
1st one was a Honda NSX vs a BMW M3 (New shape) I came off the motorway onto a big fast island where the lights were on red...

Anyone got spax on their car or had it before? Any good?
Need a 55-60mm kit ASAP coz my wheels are being fitted on thursday! (Cant drive round looking like a tractor)
Dunno about the rev limit, but Id put my house on the sticky idling being the lack of speedo cable.
This sometimes happens when a cable gets kinked or knackered so I spose its the same if no cable is connected
Tom how bright are those LED sidelights you bought? Are they the super bright or the normal ones?
Dunno which to get, dont really want to blind oncoming drivers
