My friend recently aquired the new golf GTD, 170ps. Having drove it i thought it was alot faster than the clio, however when driving home, the clio pulled away easily. A remap to the golf would be a different outcome i would have thought.
If your aftermarket h/u worked with your stalk controls, it would have an interface fitted, therefore the cars loom which connects to the clocks, would have been disconnected and attached to a stalk adapter. If the case, remove the stalk adapter, and connect the spare connector to the empty slot...

Open passenger door, the side of the dashboard has a fuse box cover, remove this. Cross reference the fuses with your owners manual, and pull out the fuse labelled brake light and cig lighter. Hold it up to the light, one should be broken. Had this happen twice on previous cars.
Had a great weekend away with the g/f over valentines, staying in Keswick, Cumbria. Found a good excuse to venture out and play on some roads :D The B5252/5289 (Whinlatter pass) between Keswick and Whitehaven, via Buttermere and Braithwaite was stunning! Taken with the crappiest camera phone...
Try putting an old socket within the rubber mount, and cable tie into place. Mine looks ok :D
