Looks like they got a slow 172. Buggers put in the claimed top speed of the 206 and MINI Cooper S Works as 140 but showed 133.8 for the Renault! Why?

Most so-called warped discs are just the result of pad material bonding to the disc. My Willy had this problem with the stock Renault pads but not at all with Ferodo DS 2000 pads. The stock pads were good for about a day at the ring but the Ferodos go forever.

I could never hear the sound in mine over the engine, gearbox and wind. I dont think there were any speakers standard in them anyway.

Mine had over 111,000 on it when i sold it. 2,500 of those miles would have been done on the ring. It was still on the original dampers, second clutch, third cat and still going strong. Gearbox whined a bit and third gear synchro was a bit dodgey but that was about all that was wrong with it.

Eurosport did a show devoted to the S1600 cars a while ago. Im not sure if they will do it again but it was great.

Usually the cars used in purse snatchings are stolen as well. They dont use their own cars. They tend to go for ordinary cars so that when the car is described, it would match hundreds of others. They may well be b******s, but they are not necessarily stupid b******s.
