Nice buy Doncaster_K9! I couldn't think of a better track car. For that purpose they're better than a clio IMO.
My mates currently building one at the moment, it's a simple spec just breathing mods, bucket seats slightly stripped interior and lowered on springs/dampers, and I honestly reckon it...
Have to agree with you mate. The VTS is every bit as quick and handles better than a 172/182 but the Clio is the nicer car to drive and the better overall car.
It's the power delivery and the feel of the controls that sets the Clio apart for me, when you're not in the mood the Saxo/106 just...
People/times change. Just because it was rated in the 90's doesn't mean it's still good now. It's like flares were cool in the 70's, don't think they are now!
The game has moved on.
The car in the article used to be on here too:

This is what pisses me off with old cars. The list of stuff to do just mounts, and it starts to niggle at you!
I do like this though, perservere with it! My GTI used to leak slowly between the bell housing and the engine, I imagine it was crank seal, never enough oil for me to bother getting it...
Ha, what an idiot! Glad to hear it wasn't just me, thought he had just made a judgement about me because of my age (21).
I got that same "I've been doing this years, I know what I'm doing" spiel too. Only bought the car because it was cheap in the end, was tempted to tell him to do one!
Literally a toy for me, whilst I'm a student I technically don't really need a car. Blast between home and Aberystwyth (120m) every other weekend then just get about from A to B and tinker with it when I've got the time/money.
Dealer I bought mine off was a nice guy but turned into a nob the day I picked the car up.
"Are you sure you have got insurance for this?"- Yes I'm sure.
"Dont go and crash it within 24 hrs" -I'm a perfectly capable driver
"You sold your old car on Pistonheads? Aww, bless you."
and the icing...
Perhaps I'm very wrong here, but I really can't see them being that different?
What's all the refinement chat about....both cars use the same running gear? Does the PH2 come with more sound deadening or something, or are the controls a bit smoother?
Never get the interior comments either...
This was spot on - Paul emailed me back to tell me the pink connector from the ballast needed turning round the other way. Cheers for the tip, working now!
