Depends. Surely if you have any full decat exhaust it will be loud, and if you have just a backbox, it will be not so loud? Or can there be a big difference in sound from just a backbox?

Yeh id buy the Valver mate, take the box and break the rest, that way you should make your money back and have a nice new gearbox...oh and a 16v shell in your garden !!

Thats what mine had...hole in casing. Yep new box, i went for re-con which cost around £400 fitted...exchange your old etc. Lasted for ages, then started popping outta gear...then making crunching noise when moving...got louder and louder, then went pop.

very same as me mate...my front left, around the edges is gone and almost in need of new tyre after 4.5k. Its the roundabouts my friend!

Ive done 4500miles and the front left corner is bald round the edges. :cry: need to try and make it last another 2k, cant justify newuns yet.
