At the end of the day the Cup is cheaper than the standard issue. I dont think anyone reasonably intelligent is under the assumpton that a Cup is going to be apprecaibly faster than the normal 172, I certainly am not, but a couple of grand extra for air con etc was not an option to me and my...

I had a Renault 19 16v( it was my first "performance car" ) in 1995, and found it rather slow and underpowered. So I bought a superchip which made no difference at all. Took it to a rolling road in London, where it put out 138 bhp at the flywheel, and the operator then informed me that it was...

I can well understand you all who would prefer the standard issue with its creature comforts, but as I already have a new Mondeo Ghia X which is a veritable luxury cruiser with loads of space, I actually WANT a simple, stripped out little thing. And the Cup will be positively luxurious compared...

Our Rallye was stonking and arsekicking until I decided to put nice looking and heavy 17 inchers on it. Steering became unbelieavably heavy, it markedly lost performance, and kept hitting the arches whenever there were more than 2 people in the car.
Then I bought a Scorpion piece of sh*t cat...

Yes, I would go with the Captain here as well, I do not think the S3 totally outhandles the 172 at all, although I have never driven an S3. The 172 is to all intents a fine handling car, and probably more nimble than the heavier and 4wd S3.
The only thing with 4wd is that you can put power...

Hmmm, thats the kind of street racing I dont approve of. i dont like seeing people hurt or killed...
An empty road with good viz is one thing but not built up areas with people and animals.

You never know with those things! I came up aginst a 106 Gti, standard looking with the normal exhaust, and it was virtually as quick as my Integra. I was duly impressed!
Yes, dont worry about it. Makes me remeber a good race I had down a long straight with no traffic one night after work in my Scooby, when a modified RS Turbo wanted a run, and he was in front of me. I didnt gain on him, and he didnt gain on me, up until about 80, when there was a monstrous cloud...

Nope, the 22B had about the same power output on the rollers as the 2 litre STis or WRXs. If you are interested in hundreds of dynoplots, see www.scoobynet.co.uk. Interesting. And there are pictures of my EVO6 there as well...

They are fearsomely quick in the right hands. However, most BMW drivers arent exactly in Schumachers league.
Well done, chap! I hope it wasnt in a 30 zone though!

A mate of mine had a 620ti when I had my first Corrado VR6, and his was slightly faster than mine. But then there was a bit of a problem with the Corrado, and the second one I had was quicker...
