where do you suspect to lose that loads of power? on two shafts in g.box, very simple diff and then two shafts to wheels, and than rolling drag? no...
i guess theres no need for you to take the engine out :)
do one mount at a time, box goes w/o taking the engine out - same goes with clutch then. steering rack - is a bit hard to do it... but again afaik no need for taking the engine out - unscrew and unmount the manifold and downpipe...

after decomposing ;) my spare head i found out,
indeed the ports, are relatively big, but then - in the area close to the cylinder , velve seat, there is something like a narrower diameter - doesnt it last to speed up the air a bit (venturi effect...)?
have you tried to fit a restrictor...
as I said in other post (find and read it.) - its crucial to run the car on the same gear. the differences between 2 and fifth are huge. its because you get far more Nm through the wheels on 2nd than on 5th due to shorter ratio. but the RR doesnt know this... the rolling drag is not differing...
Ive driven CTR, and must say its NICEEEEE !!! :) it handles like a dream - i mean its very very easy to drive quickly, accelrates v.good (even if the punch comes only at about 6000 :) )

if you can, try making runs on different gears and see the ifference in power and torque. :)

its basically a catalogue of Renault Sport parts with diagrams. And I have other one which is kind of instruction manual - how to fit and so on of teh :) parts from teh catalogue....
like diagrams of other perfromance enhancing stuff - and there is really not much of it apart from - cam...

I got my car back two days ago after gbox problem... and my 2nd gear redlines at about 50 mph :-o... Im sharing my hapiness with You... sorry for that :)
I already have cams and pulleys waiting for the head to be done... then...
is it? its not i guess... it has slightly different casing hasn;t it?
the gearing may be the same though. but as i noticed in other topic it seems funny - having shorter 1 and 2 while 4 and 5 are significantly longer...
You mean that JB3 028 is for williams???
what are gearing differences between JB3 048 - as in valver and JB3 028 (from 19 1.9 TD afaik)
Ive just had JB3 028 fitted to my valver and astonishigly i noticed that 1, 2 gears seem to be shorter, while 4, 5 longer . not sure about 3rd.
anybody got any figures?
i would like to - next summer maybe :) the second thing is that everything is not as cheap in UK as here. things on scrappies and so on are far cheaper than in UK, but theres nothing to find :)
Today I got my clio back! yeyeye ! :) the box is not as good as previous one, but it works :) ...
I think that in poland there were not more than 1000 F7R engines... it is not easy to find anything... but i am putting some effort to find something...
the same goes with g.box... if one from renault costs half of my whole car? and ~3 average Polish monthly incomes? then I need to find...
do You realise how easy it is to get this sort of thing? - if You look for it the most common answer is.. sorry what? the same goes with JB3 048 boxes :) and many other nice parts :)
go for the 2.0 blah blah... only if finding a 2.0 ltr bottom end was so easy :) can anyone experienced list all bottom ends which fit (or will fit with some effort...). Cause as I read all this You write I think that 2.0 litre bottom is needed.

bought second engine with crap block to have new parts and
gonna have head fully reworked, then engine piggybacked, and custom set-up.
dont know what to expect... but hoping for some more than 165... but...
