What is a standard like VX compared to a standard Elise? Ive driven the Elise a lot more than the VX220 and found it to be quite uncompelling compared to what car magazines say. Relative to an average car, they are superb, but they are gutless and the handling leans towards understeer. Brakes...
Ive started going in those Baby Club spaces, theyre great! I dont give a sh*t if some pikey mother has to move her tree trunk legs a few metres for the sake of saving me yet more money.

Well, a road car which is a genuinely decent on track isnt that common for £20k is it? I could probably give a reason for everything being crap besides the NSX anyway..
-Rob
Honda NSX.
The V6 is all shout and no clout, the VX is a boring choice..and they both understeer.
You could pick up an NSX for and fit Type-R suspension for under £20k. In a recent Autocar they didnt do an NSX-R Vs. new 911 test because it would of been too unfair on the Porsche, and yet...
Fair enough if you dont think options are worth it but bear in mind G the second hand market will see at least the Xenons as valuable items. I imagine if you only kept the Golf for a year it wouldnt matter but once the Golf has been around a little while people will get fussy...
I recently...
I have driven a Cup in the wet and in general the car feels more on edge.
The Sport Clios are reasonably aggressively set up compared to other hot hatches, it is not suprising some people have come unstuck. In dry weather the car does all the work, in the wet some questions are asked of the...
I drive faster cars, i do trackdays in a Honda NSX so i have no Renault is god disillusion.
Id love to back it up with some hard evidence but i have none, with the above comments i doubt id get shown much faith but myself and Fred are hardly newbies throwing a few blags.
Oh well.

Cant see it happening, what did EVO actually say?
I think anyone who knows nothing about a Clio would see a new Clio (with the 15 inch 172 wheels) and say "looks just like a 172!"
They were probably just trying to make it sound more inticing, re-wording a press release from Renault..

There are infinite variables but there is no reason why it is not possible.
I was pushing a Focus RS at Brands in my Clio 1.216v, i had track knowledge to my advantage but i made up for what, a 135bhp difference? My Clio just had a k-tec exhaust, coilovers and geometry changes.
I have...
I put mine in the centre below the brake light, looks gay anywhere else. In the end i removed the sticker so it showed just the web address, didnt want to look like a Max Power reading boy racer!

That is an impressive time for the Golf. My dads Alfa GTV V6 did it in about 15 secs when it was modified, so i guess a Fiat Coupe Turbo would be around the same.

Ah, my worst fear!
Just bought a Cooper, im keeping under 4000rpm and it so far it feels no faster than my 1.216v, and a mk1 RT has pulled on my Clio...
Still think youre talking sheeat though!

To be fair to whoever the racing driver guys is, hardly any road cars are good when you compare them to a racing car. If this guy has jumped out of a Formula Renault then its im sure his idea of a good road car is a mile cruncher, you would have to agree that the Megane would be better at this...
At the end of the day almost every car knicked with a Tracker gets back to its owner, its all very well having a nifty alarm but what happens if theyre on a roundabout when the car cuts out?
My dads SLK got nicked and it had a tracker, the police waited for the guy to park it (at a pub!) and...
Me too... i appreciate you probably adore your valver but im not sure its worth the financial problems of keeping 2 cars just to keep it looking pretty, the Williams is a classic and i would say its worth that effort.
-Rob
I think most of the steering/gear stick things are easily removable, once theyve mastered one, they can get the next one off in seconds im sure..
Im getting a Tracker fitted, except its not a Tracker...similar but its european wide, not just the UK. Ill try and remember who does it!
-Rob
If i wanted my Clio to look ugly i would of at least of gone for this! ;)

As Loony says im sure you could get around the problem, personally i quite like the discreetness of the 172 and would spend my money elsewhere, perhaps a Cup spoiler?
-Rob
The 1.2 has a few known engine problems, ive had that happen to me. Was last year so i cant remember the fault, it happened again but that time it was just a spark plug!

As lagerlout says, the 182 Cup is purely taking advantage of the Cups hardcore image. You would have to be stupid not to take all the extras the 182 with Cup pack has when it only costs an additional grand.
I personally think they should of removed air con completely and sold it for £500 less...
