from what i know (not much) the stress on the engine from a supercharger is less as there is less of a boost surge and a more smooth power curve
tbh i dont know....... all i know is superchargers make a LOVELY noise! :)
the clio engine can reasonably easily get up to and beyond the power output of the other 1.6 16v's its just they are tuned higher as std
the clio 1.6 was never built as a performance model and therefore returns excellent mpg & long service intervals
weight is the biggest killer tho as the...
the 1.2/1.4/1.6's arent really geared towards going fast for long periods
my 1.6 is revving at about 3.5k at 70 so it does tend to use a fair bit of fuel.
on the drive to london (120 odd miles) this weekend i got 54mpg going down the motorway (averaging about 65mph)
could be.... just had a look:
Noise
Between 0~10 MPH a clicking sound can be heard. This could be a faulty ABS sensor in the wheel. Its a reasonably common problem and covered under warranty.
sounds about right to me
think ill still check it over and make sure everything is ok for the...
in a way i hope it is a nail.......... will give me a reason to buy new wheels :D
its a very intermittent noise which is a bit odd but i shall investigate on friday morning....
coming from the right side (front i think) sounds just like a stone stuck in the tyre (but its not) and every so often it will click (sounds a bit like someone "tutting") a few times then stops for a bit then again for a few etc etc
i really am at a loss as to what it is! been doing it since...
yeah i had a look but couldnt see any cuts or holes and it seems to be attached pretty solidly...
im gonna take it to the garage and get a oil change so will get them to check it whilst they're at it
if it is 1 piece then ull have to cut it off (thats what i had to do with my mk2 ph2) but with my mk1 there was a join just before the turn (as u can see in the pic) then a join before it went up and over the torsion bar which joins onto the backbox section
the std exhaust was the same...
i think i may have a similar issue with mine
whenever i take the wheel off after a reasonable amount of time i have a bit of green (looks green to me altho is very dirty from brake dust and all that) greese sitting on the inside of the wheel
isnt very obvious where its coming from tho...
iirc the backbox unbolts just after it rises up over the torsion bar?
the back of the car needs to be reasonably high to be able to tilt the exhaust and get the backbox off then it is easy to unbolt the rest....
id be happy to do them for/with you if you want.....might be a bit like the chuckle brothers tho lol
i managed to fit my coilovers so i cant be that bad with the spanner
im nr bath.... (peasedown)
maybe if he had a service and a remap after having lots of other mods...... otherwise i very much doubt it
more than possible to tune the 1.6 16v above and beyond the 134bhp figure but need slightly more than a remap....
