Lucky you Aaron! The only way I could afford a newer car would be to sell the Valver to fund it... and thats not going to happen.
The most cost-effective thing for me when I started work was to get the use of one of my parents cars as my dad now works abroad and theres always one of their...
Cheers Ben!
Im officially a Bristolian no more now, although Ill be spending a few weeks at a time in Bristol with my job before Christmas and then every Friday for the next three years after that. Think you can fit me in some time?;)
Yeah, them arches of yours did look a bit sus when I...
Cheers Aaron
Yeah, I get the smoke and I think its mainly to do with the de-cat - I presume the cat would have previously caught the black smokey stuff. I said soot, but theres no real soot coming out, just the smoke.
I was just a bit wary as it was happening more than usual this...
Yeah, it was at my mates farm for a month - but then I took it to London to see my girlfriend and drove back to Wales racing that Golf GT TDi all the way! So the sh*t should have cleared out by now?
Just taken my Valver for some gentle exercise. Warmed up as normal and let the temperature rise over about ten miles to normal. No thrashing or anything.
Later as I was going out of a roundabout at low revs I notice a cloud of black smoke coming from my tailpipe - quite a lot in fact. I...
:D
I remember saying to him that Pete (Smoothed Clio) knew where "da crooowse" was and pointing over to Pete who then cracked up right in his face. The poor guy must have thought he was laughing at him or something;)
Stage1 tuning parts will not give really noticeable improvements in the acceleration department. Most of the time they combine to make it sound amazing, improve responsiveness and iron out flat spots.
I was at Bristol Uni for four years and always had a nice Clio with me, except for in the 1st year when it was not allowed to bring a car to Halls.
I kept my 1st Clio on the street in a residential area, but it did get broken into lots. In the end I managed to get some off road parking by...
I know people dont pay much more for them, but it also has some very smart interior bits (like a £150 steering wheel), ICE and a mountain of spare parts.
The Williams gearbox has the same ratios, except for a taller 5th gear. Also has uprated bearings and casing - for £550 from Renault. Not suggesting you go for it, but just an idea.
Well, my mind is in full swing thinking about possiblities and cunning ways to get my grubby paws on a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo and it looks like Ill be going over to the dark side in January, when my insurance runs out.
Question is: how much should I expect for my Valver? Just want some...
If you get them refurbished properly then theyll sandblast them or sand them down - so there should be no need to do any more than clean them with car shampoo before you have them done.
Just going on experience mate: Ive spent four years in Bristol and am now back in Cardiff and I still think I get an easier time of it here. Bristol is full of hidden cameras and Ive had an odd experience with Avon & Somerset Police (another tale). So far, so good back home (touch wood!)...
Put it into 1st before reversing. Works every time. (BTW, the Valver and Willy boxes are practically identical, except for 5th ratio, bearings and casing).
South Wales is far better than most areas for speed cameras etc.
You can usually see them, or the Police car - and theyre always clearly marked. Theres one particular red van that sits on top of clear M4 bridges with a huge camera sign painted on it and has "THINK! KILL YOUR SPEED" and...
Well I followed that liknk and saw that for E20,850 or E19,000 you had a choice of either a 2.0 16v or Ragnotti with either 120kw or 124kw.
Surely thats what were on about here?
Theres no point generalising about Williams and 16V weights because of the various trims and options they came with.
Probably the lightest of them all was the first batch of UK Phase1 16V, which came with no catalyst. All later models (especially from Phase2) got side impact bars and more...
Very nice Speedline wheels - forget the model name; the five-spoke 16V wheels are Speedline Vega. Are they Willy wheels resprayed or Prima copies? I also heard that they could be ordered as a dealer option on 16Vs at one stage, although I dont believe it myself.
