the wax crayon is temporary, but V. QUICK and saves all the fuss.
ideal if you get a nu chip till you have time to do fussy paint, lacquer & t-cut stuff.
yeah,
1 x locking nut on each wheel AND little key to take plastic trims off. The market for 15s has faded, so not mega theft risk!
the auto-lights and auto-wipers are one of the best features on a Dynamique tho
P.S: tell her to spend £30 on a leather 172 gear knob - the standard plastic...
chip stick is good but expensive.
get a HARD wax crayon in almost same colour (steal from Nursery School!) and nick across chips as if colouring a piccy.
polish after - works for about 6 weeks!
they should fit perfectly alright with no spacers or mods.
80% of the all Clios are the same - ive just put 17s on with no problems.
try an all forums search on offset to double-check.
seen loads of chat about bigger wheels making cars slower etc.
Ive changed 15s to 17s and I cant feel the 1.9% difference!
check out http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlhttp://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html. Just put in current size and planned change.
This is from the Home Page -...
they look WICKED with chrome edge, whites cool too, but im happy wiv mine - Kosei K1s. Rare on a Clio!

Ive heard a few things about ride, speed humps and rubbing on 17s with 60mm, so went for 40mm APEX - only cost £122 @ BB Performance as a Clio member (~£150 non-member!)
feels sharper, roll massively reduced, ride firmer, but OK for 30 mile cross-country commute and even 200 miles on Motorway...
I love my 80, looked at a Fabia vRS, but body kit and white inserts on seats looked a bit cheap. I know they are QUICKER, but £80 Tax, grp 3 insurance, nippy, 2K cheaper with aircon AND 70mpg won me over!
Fabia 9/10 performance, 3/10 running costs
Clio 8/10 performance, 10/10 running costs...
my 19 IMPROVED - 50 to 53 - more torque, less gear changes. 40 in top should be much easier!
It dipped for a week while I stopwatched it, then improved from 50 to 53 (brimful to orange light over about ten tanks).
It was still doing 53mpg when I sold it in 03, 9 years old with 90K!
I bet...
Superchips quote 88 for a 65dCi upgrade.
BUT remember standard cars are under-rated like VW so 65 is actually 70 and 80 is really 85 in standard trim.
People sometimes slate upgrades cos they expect MORE - you need 8 times the Horse Power to go twice as fast!
I had a Ren 19 upgraded by Van...
Id put money on it being AT LEAST 6-9 months AFTER launch that the hot one arrives - the Meg 225 took long enough!!
Youll have the Dogs Bollox for well over 2 years I reckon.
a 182 cup upgrade spec dCi 120 (with a 144bhp & 300lb/ft Superchips upgrade) is what Im waiting for!
Mag article is v. poor
- Use exisitng data - technical spec already available from Reno and back up with subjective comments.
- no tested 0-60 or 50-70, no comparisons with 80 or 100 rivals (Polo etc.)
- no kerb weight listed and price wrong!
I AM TESTING dCi 100 TOMORROW, AND WILL...
UPDATE.
Mag article CRAP!!!!!!!!
(read it B4 I got to the door - AND took it back and said wrong edition!)
- a few others minor changes to dials, seats and front bumper plus more sound deadening (heavier) and £700 MORE expensive.
- BUT subjective comments and use manufacturers figures...
tiny tiny mods!
heaveier/stronger gearbox from Megane and tiddly changes to turbo and injection pressure.
Im test driving a dCi100 tomorrow, but on stats alone a Suerchipped 80 gives around 25lb/ft torque MORE than a new dCi 100.
Trade-in and lose 4k or £400 on a chip??
P.S: theres a...
dont worry about the deposit - watch the finance.
I was offered 3.0%, but when the printed figures arrived they had added on all sorts of crap such as tyre cover and gap insurance.
I got them to strip all this off (eventually) and paid 900 under list including finance fees - 9800 + 300 fees...
I stuck mine on the bathroom scales - standard Dynamique 15s with tyres were 15kg, my NEW KOSEI 17s with tyres are 14.5!
P.S: If you sell the old ones & need to post (I just have) the cheapest quote by a mile was £36.76 OVERNIGHT (Northants to Redcar) including insurance with Action Express on...
Any reason for Eibach?
I searched on this site and APEX are v.popular also - Ive just had them fitted all inclusive for £122.00! at BB Performance in Essex.
Excellent - springs AND service.
VERY COMMON on cars that tootle about without getting warm - less than 5 miles in one trip.
My mum-in-laws Fiesta makes about a pint of mayo between services!
Clean it out & change the oil!
I get 72mpg from my TURBO D Sport.
Youd save a GRAND a year on fuel on 20K miles! Plus grp 3 insurance, 18K service intervals and £110 Tax.
These are nippy as standard, but better with a few mods. Ive just had lowered springs and 17s fitted (what a difference!). Superchips NEXT -172lb/ft...
Ive got 3 points and it had no effect - half the population must have them by now!!!!! Altho. the Cliosort Website survey was only about 17%.
Got caught at 41 in a 30 on a racing bike also - cant touch my licence tho.
BUT couldve been done with "furious riding" under an 1820 Highway...
