Booked it through www.alignmycar.co.uk and used a garage over near Halifax named Sunside Service Station Darren.
Guy seemed very knowledgeable so hopefully I wont have any tyre issues!
Finally managed to get the car a full four-wheel laser alignment this morning.
Readings were way out and I'm extremely impressed with the results, car feels so much more planted and I have regained confidence pushing it through corners once more! :approve:
Combined with the K-Tec...
Well if you use those 'self drilling' screws provided you wont need to remove anything, but personally I'd want something more substantial otherwise it's pointless fitting the brace.
It needs bolting to the turret yes. I wouldn't use those screws I'd user proper bolts with nyloc threads to stop them working loose.
I'm not sure what the clearance is like under the turret but you may have to remove the struts for access.
Yes, you're unlikely to wear out the dampers as they are uprated and designed to be used with lowering springs. If you fit lowering springs to your standard dampers then this will normally result in them wearing out quicker.
The turret is the party of the bodywork that the suspension pokes through into the engine bay.
If a part has been missed off from the top mount under the turret then the amount of thread showing inside the bay will be greatly increased.
They do sometimes sit away from the body work depending on what position the car and wheels are in.
If it's on a flat surface with the wheels straight then they should be the same.
When you took the springs off did you make sure everything was put back correctly on the mount under the turret?
Do you have any pics of how the top mount is sitting?
Is it too high to shut the bonnet?
Have they always been like this or is it since some work was carried out?
Lol, daft thing is if it'd have been around the £800 mark I'd have paid it to preserve my 'Dealer stamp'.
As it is I shall be heading to Birchdown and saving myself £600 :approve:
Several months ago I managed to fit three kids (including seats), a pram, a cool bag containing picnic, the children's mother and myself in my 182...
The bloke nextdoor called it a Tardis! lol!
It's surprising how practical they are as a 'family' car ;)
