Hey folks Got quite a tidy phase 1 172 in pearl black. Its got black f1s, a cup spoiler, phase 2 rear lights and a skoda splitter. It's also got a twin exit exhaust that ill be replacing with a stealth. So should I get a phase 2 rear bumper on her aswell? With maybe some colour coded phase 2...

That's the passenger side ones. Proper length is the one on the left. So about an inch longer or so. I've not measured the drivers side one so don't know if/by how much longer it is. There both basically brand new. Pm if you want proper lengths in mm and more pics.

Hey folks After checking loads of things and coming to the conclusion that my 172 needed a new gearbox it turned out that the previous owner had actually fitted driveshafts that were too long :o So new ones fitted and the cars perfect. So im now left with 2 new driveshafts that have done...

For future reference I found torque settings in an old Haynes manual for the clio II. Lower arm pivot bolts - 90nm Ball joint bolts - 75nm Arb bracket - 35nm

Anyone got the torque settings?

Oh yeh anyone got the torque settings? Front bolt, rear bolt, 2 ball joint bolts and the anti roll bar bracket bolt

Well they are welded no so if they ain't right nothing I can do haha. Sure they'll be fine. Here's pics 3 tack on each aswell. Will be fitting them tomorrow so will wait and see if they fit Cheers

Sorry or the early bump but I'm at work now so I've only got a short time to sort these and get them welded. So any input on the bushes? It looks to me they are all fine and the sleeves have been pressed in fine apart from one on the drivers side?

Yeh the powerflex rubbers I mean lol. Yeh I know what you mean I've fitted powerflex bushes to my focus RS but didn't know if these were diff, Any pictures of how it should be welded? How many tacks? Etc Cheers

Will the rubbers come out by hand? Or do I need a hydraulic press?

Hey folks Got my 172 phase 1 a few weeks ago and I've been told to check the front bushes to make sure the metal sleeve has been tack welded in place. I've got powerflex bushes all round btw. So I had a look and they've not been tacked in place :(. So ill bring the welded home at the weekend...

It's official......cars sorted :) the shafts were too long. Here's a pic of the passenger side As you can see just a little longer lol Big thanks to swr in Stirling and djwJohn off here who had two used shafts at a great price :)

I think I've solved the problem. The driveshafts were too long believe it or not lol. Only just finished fitting standard ones so will see if the noise is gone in the morning. Fingers crossed :)

Did you remove this rod from the selector to drop the box? If so and you didn't mark where it was it will be the wrong length. I'm 99.9% sure it's something to do with the length of the rod IF you have moved it. Try setting it up again and make sure the bolt holding the rod to the selector is...

Sounds like the selector has been moved from its original place. You can adjust the length with a bolts underneath along the gear selector rod. Did you remove this to drop the box?

I've got it on as its going to be my daily and my track car. It had a stainless towing eye on it when I bought it. Still undecided. Or may get a black one? Stealth exhaust is on the list aswell. Also wanting a suede steering wheel. What size is best? 300mm or 330?
