Saying that I owned my mk1 for 5 months, and had no probs, apart from 4k rattle just starting. But Ive had 4 faults with the mk2 in as many months. good ol Renault.

Jan 03. Later found out it was an import, so should of been abit cheaper.

Ive owned both. Now got a Mk2. IMHO I think the Mk2 is better. Traction control, better road holding. Main problems Ive had : Headlight washer balls going AWOL x2 Headlamp washer bottle cracked. Alarm Changed All the above done under warrenty.

Oh and I paid £9k from a renault dealer for it. Y reg (01) with approx 20k miles

My old Mk1 172 had a single disc up front with a renualt (alpine) multi changer under the drivers seat. Check for alloy spare and alrm sensors on the pillars. UK cars should have both. check for the 4k rattle, mine started at around 20k miles.

Just been to my local ICE specialist and hes quoted me £280 for a B2!! my local motor factors want £400. I asked him to check the price and he said thats correct, so looks like Ill be ordering one ASAP. Should be nxt day delivery.

Just done a 240 mile round trip to Brands Hatch. mpg now sitting at 40.2 - cruising at 80mph 90% of the way.

Trust me. Had one done under warrenty 2 weeks ago. They just pop a new ball in. Cheaper that way. My other one fell out last week, so back to get that one done.

Sorry I cant help with the part number, but when mine got changed they sent the wrong bottle at the first attempt. Right one turned up for their second attempt.

Had the same problem. I had to get the valves cut off!! apparently the cheaper caps heat up when the wheel is in motion, and they lock solid.
