after a week in a Modus. Im back behind the wheel of a proper car!! Turns out my alternator decided to blow up. Yet another job done under warrenty!! (why was this covered but the rear shock not!?!) whilst picking the 172 up I saw on the forecourt a 53 plate 172 priced at £10995!! Surely...

Ive got a 54 plate Modus for this weekend. Due to my 172 shagging up AGAIN!!. My excess has gone up to £300. but Ive never had to pay for the actual car. normally get cars under 6 months old. My other local renault dealer charges £6ish a day.

Rear shock on the way out. Give it 2 weeks and itll be shot!! Had both my rears replaced today. Seems to of been a few on here in the last week or so.

thats what I was thinking when it was smoking. After disconecting the alternator everything worked fine. Oh well if you hear of a renault dealership burning down in norfolk over the weekend you know what caused it.

Went to pick my 172 up today after having the rear shocks replaced and the mechanic said to me the battery light was taking a long time to go out. Id never noticed before. when he showed me the light started flashing!! Then the dreaded smell of burning from under the bonnet!! popped the bonnet...

hopefully youll be covered as Rory said. Both of mine have gone this week on july 03 172. 21k miles. Mine arent covered under warrenty. £42 +vat each or £170 fitted!! doing it myself for a damn site less.

Have you tried talking to the Cust Service manager? Tell him youll be writing to Ren UK if nothing is sorted out. Renault dented my 172 when it went in for warrenty work last year. After 1 botched repair job and a letter to Ren UK it was finally sorted out on a 2nd attempt. Search on here...

noticed the other day that Ive smashed my left hand side under tray bit. Think it may of been a rabbit that decided to end its life in front of me the other week. Hope you get yours sorted out.

Mine misses the top part of the semi circle. Just changed the wiper blade today after 18mnths motoring.
