And here is my idle today......all warmed up.

Sitting under 1k RPM......bear in mind, this is with the fastchip remap that I think made it idle higher than this

Found my thread fella......will try and use some common sense and video the engine WITH THE BONNET OPEN! lol....I am a tube.

You can see a few guys confirming my timing was out but tbh.....I was not well at all shortly after that...
Hey gang,
Just a quick heads up.
I was having a world of pain with my engine manifold hitting the subframe again even though I had the powerflex dogbone mount in and brand new engine and gearbox mounts.
After much arsing about pulling the engine forwards, backwards, this and that.....I...
Hey bud,
Yeah.....sounds like a plan. I will hopefully grab a vid of mine tonight so we can both agree that they are the same and I will hang fire on any further work till we see how you fair.
Agreed, it drives seemingly fine although I would say that mine is a touch hesitant sometimes and I...
Very interested in seeing how you get on Davy........mine is idling IDENTICALLY to yours.
I think mine is belt related (changed last year) but I am unable to fix this myself unlike you. Would be keen to see if your work remedies the idle as I was about to start buying injectors etc.
Keep us...

Hi gang,
Had to replace the upper timing belt cover as the threads were destroyed (main dealer from a while ago i think) and the mount was basically hanging off.
But had a hell of a time removing the tensioner spring bolt (one arrowed in stolen pic below) as it looked like it had been eaten by...
To be fair.....the right tools (Clip) in the wrong hands (Renault) are just as garbage as cheap stuff IMO.
Lets not forget my "complete ABS ecu failure and 3 ABS sensor failure" diagnosed by Renault to the princely sum of £1800 quid.......................that was a broken wire.
Cut the guy a...
Hi gang,
Hope you can help as I am seriously doubting myself here.
A short while ago I had, lets just say.......an experience with a boulder while avoiding an idiot on a country road :(
Wheel has a slight buckle and tyre is duffed but I suspected top mount damage which upon removal, seemed...
Well that's interesting......so on my Ph2 172.......the knock is coming from the cat/arb?
That might be something down to the exhaust hang........the centre section was replaced over the summer (warranty replacement from Ktec) and while I haven't noticed the knock back then, thinking about...
Hey gang,
We have all been through this at some stage.....and we usually resolve it with a polybushed dogbone or just healthier mounts but I am in a situation where I am getting the exhaust/manifold - subframe type knock from the bulkhead under acceleration....usually only 1st gear.
My dog...
I know mate, never heard of them myself but there was a marked price difference which tempted me.........the downstream lambda was replaced with Bosch a few years ago.
I should have known better.
Sorry, just read it back......made no sense.
I pulled the HAAS sensor as I have no confidence in it given the lack of movement in its values.
I put the original one back in but swapped it with the rear O2 (which was basically fused to the cat might I add). So right now.....both original O2...
Well.......I swapped them.........obv a temporary solution given the different cable lengths so a bit of a botch for now.
But, no EML light......and after a fairly heavy hoking......same as before, but the O2 graph looks like this
Ok.....well......I am sort of figuring that it is as cold as its going to get tonight, being nearly 20 degrees and all..........I also suppose I am looking for an injector standing out as being different rather than a global change.
So checked the resistance on all 4 injectors and they...
Makes perfect sense bud......I can't be rational at the minute (blind panic) so appreciate well grounded and sensible approaches such as yours and Amos.
Will wait till I get a cool period and test the injectors and take it from there.
J
Jeez. Well that is throwing something else into the mix now :(
Do you think it is worth me pulling the lambda tonight then and putting the old one back in to see if it behaves similarly then?
Not going to get a chance to do the cold engine thing till the weekend as this is my daily steed.
Is...
