You did nothing wrong mate, there is no mount for it that i saw apart from the actual connection
When i look at mine which was brand new, it was......well....fairly pert :) and sat about 1cm from the heat shield. I can only assume at 4k its flapping like a fool, maybe the resonant frequency...
nah......4k rpm is the heat shield.
In mine, a phase 2 172, its the wire from the downstream lambda sensor just tickling the heatshield at the cat
2 tie wraps in a figure of 8 keeps it at bay dude

I don't think the rack is suspect but you know the score, its really hard to isolate these things.
I have noted, even after replacing the tre, that there is slightly more play on the pass side wheel when i pull it left to right. There is movement on the drivers side but not the same as the...
Righto,
When i got bonk a couple of years ago, I went about replacing all the joints etc in the front steering.
Lower ball joints, upper mounts and bearings, tre's and also did the top mount washer mod.
So, failed the MOT the other day with a duff tre.......so i replaced that (which, fair...
Hey team,
Quick query....
What are the CORRECT steering setup values for a 2003 172 FF?
Need to get the alignment done after replacing inner and outer tracks and we are very limited for decent alignment people over here in NI.
Half the time I reckon they just bang in regular Clio settings...
I would be of a different opinion completely Chris but of course, its all subjective.....
I agree that the Conti's certainly felt harder at the same pressure but they just didn't give that feeling of eating into the tarmac as the RS2's did..........then there was also the rain benefit which I...
So surely if I go and get the alignment done again and am anal about it insisting on seeing the results, if its on spec and i drive like a nun, it should wear evenly, no?
Loved......LOVED Uniroyal RainSport 2's as mentioned above...........really not enjoying Conti CS3's which i expected more from.
I would say that the best tyre would be the PS3 to be honest, haven't tried them myself but the exalto's that were on mine performed better than the Conti's even...
achieved.
:)
joking, well...if its down to my driving and or maybe the contis then thats fine. Just linked this all to the wandering motorway driving and there being a fundamental problem all of a sudden

No mate, neither outfit produced a sheet......well, they had it, but I didn't ask for it if I am being honest.
They just told me it was on the money, no charge and i went on my way to look at other options. Hindsight tells me I should have done different.
I will do it again
No dude, absolutely stock setup.
Although I never received a report from either outfit detailing the figures.
Perhaps that is my next step to see if that info helps you guys?
Gotcha Rob, but i smashed the pie out of it before and it didn't do this. You know?
Especially not on both.
Fact: i hate going round left bends fast :) So I would have expected one to be alive at least. Both are duff.
Hey bud, yeah.....I do push it on a fair lick.......nothing stupid mind. It would tend to wash out at the minute too, wouldn't expect anything less if if seems to be depending on a small patch of tyre that is basically slick now.
A wee bit frustrating as the Uniroyals that were on before were...
OK, so I posted a previous thread about wandering and unease at speed.......read as motorway speeds and over.
So, was having my usual wee hoke about underneath the car to see what is about to fall off and noted that my 4/5 month old Conti's are utterly mashed :(
Gutted........
Keep in mind...
Ach, wtf.......car has totally mauled 2 new contis up front....well, around 6 months old. :-(
Insides are totally eaten yet alignment checked twice at separate and reputable places showed no issue
What is going on?
Help!
Jinj
What the actual f?
That is your bucking mount, seriously..........scares the s**t out of me to see this.
If you dont know stuff like this, please.....PLEASE get someone to work on your car. Dont take offense, its nothing to be ashamed of but if you thought all was well there you could have...
1. Ryan - Ultra Red 197
2. Eddie - Liquid Yellow 197
3. Alan - Black 197
4. Aaron - Arctic Blue 182 Cup
5. Jason - White 200 Cup
6. Tigger - 172
7. ourboy - 172 cup
8. GavinDci
9. Jinjur - 172
Will try to make this one chaps, promise :)
right.......checked all of the front joints all all are ok (checked for play by disassembling and also using a crowbar when assembled)
they were only renewed a while ago
but s**t me, its not nice at speed
am i missing something obvious here?

I got one of those cheapo ebay manifolds for my Civic when i bust the lovely DC one that was on there in a pretty major fashion.........and I have to say, it was monkey w**k. But it did the job. I.e. got the gasses out of the engine bay.
I would doubt very much that you will get any gain from...
Right peeps,
Lovely time of year to service lil' Bonk again however, the old wallet is sparse these days so I am having to avoid my Silkolene/Fuchs urges. I know Opie do good deals but factoring shipping to NI and it doesnt end up so good.
So i am trying to look at alternatives that wont break...
guys, thats what i am saying.......just ONE rear damper was replaced just before i bought the car on an MOT advisory.....which is madness.
so i immediatey sourced an identical new one for the other side
nothing is out of sync ns/os on the car.....i made sure of that
ill check the trackrod...
Hey everone, haven't posted in a bit, ownership has been remarkably trouble free with the wee Clio (touch wood)
However, I gave the car a wee bit of abuse the other night and ventured into "overtaking speeds" on a very quiet private runway.
Was a wee bit shocked as the car was very unstable...
