Well....i wasnt going to poly the dogbone for fear of more in car vibrations (as if i dont have enough :P)
But i will if it will help.
I renewed the gearbox top mount last week.
Even at standstill its sloppy like.
As for the oil, well....i'd suspect that it hasnt been done. Car has 49k...
I know this is generally a trait of these cars but i was just wondering if there any quick fixes or bushing jobs etc that can ighten up the very sloppy gear change in these cars? p.s. Clio 172 Ph2
Cheers

Washer pump is deeeeed.
Stripped to pieces last night and verified that i had an appropriate output on the plug for the washers at the pump but no pumping.
Interestingly, when i was testing....i plugged the normal washer cable into this to verify the problem wasn't in the cars wiring...
Right, like.....you know the way that i was "the paste pioneer"........?
Well, scratch that :rasp:
172 is blowing like billy from the slip over joints (aftermarket item)....looks like paste was used to assemble at some stage.
So, I am going to follow the gurus and re-assemble using...
Im only new to this game chap but im starting to learn that these wee donkeys are right lumpy pigs and its normal.....as long as there is no stalling etc.

Is there a certain amount of play or abuse from engine movement in these exhausts then?
Never, NEVER had a problem with "hard" setting pastes.
Just curious
Jj
Just a quick query to ask about their functionality.
I know they only work with the lights on and only after a second or so of holding the jets, but can you actually hear the second pump cutting in?
Mine don't work and I most certainly cannot hear a second pimp cutting in over the main...
The gas has got nothing-to-do-at-all with the smell in the car when its on
The bacteria is around the evaporator in the cabin that cools the air and gets damp etc......bacteria thrive there and smell like nick-nack

Well......never EVER had a problem with Bosal gear..........granted im not a mechanic by trade but used to work in a garage on weekends.
One of my main jobs was exhausts and i maybe had say, 1 in 20 come back that required a bit of extra work and sealing.

Hey all....i need to get myself some oil, tomorrow possibly...
Is this good gear
Valvoline Synpower Fully-Synthetic 5W40 Engine Oil (5 Litre)

Renault....always Renault.
Ill bluff anything with aftermarket gear APART from timing belts and oil filters.
EDIT:
Uhh, right.....just read your post and translated as best as i can. You are talking cam(e)s and not belts.
I see...
No idea. Soz.

I strongly recommend Bosal exhaust assembly paste.....its awesome. It lubricates to allow you to get the bits together and then exands and hardens to seal the joint.

Went to order the top rubbers and bearings at a local ECP yesterday but they had no stock.
Instead, they ordered me an SKC (sp?) kit that does both sides for like 40 quid instead of 60 odd.
Well see what the quality is like when they get it in tomorrow.
If its shat its going back

So right, my wee clio has been doing micro abs farts since I got it.
Nothing major, just occasionally when braking (very very lightly might i add, say at 10mph) i feel the occasional pulse of ABS through the pedal.
So many here advised ABS rings but under inspection, i couldnt see a thing...
Fred,
Do you recommend the poweflex for the dog as it gets the most abuse?
Would the dogbone bush be the usual candidate for something bashing the bottom the car under hard upshifts or when first gera traction skips?
Regards
Andy
