Hi
Fet fix is replacing an electronic componenet in the resistor pack that fails, same as they replace when you send it off for repair.
20 amp fuse is ok as when I short the blower motor, it runs fine. Think it's a Renault issue :(
Ian.
My heater stopped working Suday, so fitted a new mosfet transistor which lasted a couple of minutes. Replaced it again (i'd bought 2) and it lasted 30 seconds :( It may have been my soldering, faulty mosfets or something else...
Can anyone have a look at a wiring diagram for a 182 clio with...
Disaster.
Fan ran ok for a couple of minutes, and then blew flat out. Got home, replaced the MOSFET with the spare I bought, and this lasted 30 seconds. Don't know now whether the unit is faulty, or there is a fault somewhere else on the car!
Need to find a wiring diagram to see what the other...
Had the 182 off the wife 2months ago and fixed all the weak points!
New rear shocks, new rear wheel bearings, new springs, new top mounts, heater repair, new inner track rods!
Read this a few days ago, low and behold, mine packed up Sunday on the way to work.
Bypassed the resistor pack to prove the fault. Ordered a new MOSFET thing, arrived today, fitted it and it's fixed!!
Middle pin was a mare to desolder though.
I have a 182 non cup, the inner track rods are approx 15mm longer than a standard clio. Lemforder do not make an inner track rod for a 182, cup or not!
I had to buy genuine and am taking the ECP lemforder ones back. There web site in wrong!
Finally found it!!
It was the headlamp washers as was pointed out. The off side one has a split in it and is dribbling!
Will phone Renault for a price tomorrow.
Cheers, Ian.
I can't help with the dents, but just wanted to say that there are some right w**kers in this country, they should be put in the electric chair, I'd flick the switch.
I'm sure if you drove a 2 year old Focus worth £10k, it wouldn't be touched.
We sold our RS200 as it was stripped on the drive...
Don't buy cheap rubbish.
The pads on my Clio when I bought it hardly had the power to get the abs to work, replaced with genuine Renault and been great ever since.
Ian.
Apparently, it's a common fault.
My wife's 58 plate 197 has 44k miles on it and has only started doing it in the last few weeks as the ambient temp has gone down.
Ian.
Lemforder say genuine only for the 182. If you buy aftermarket check the length, the 182's are about 330mm long.
Still waiting for a response from ECP as they are specify the wrong part for the car. Hope to at least get my cash back.
I have a leak from my washer fluid bottle somewhere. It loses about 100ml a day.
Unfortunately, as it's so damp, I can't pressurise the bottle to see where it's leaking from. I've had the bottle out (what a PITA) and it looks dry.
Any common areas where they leak?
Ian.
Had a similar problem on my mom's Micra. Mot guy said the LED lamp were shot (very unlikely).
Got it home and found a broken wire in the rubber grommet on the hinge of the tailgate.
As Klem said, you need to check the voltage at the lamp to see if it's a supply or a lamp problem.
Ian.
There's a thread on here somewhere that shows how to remove the rubber from inside the rear mount and fit a powerflex or similar mount inside. The new mount's cable tied in place and doesn't look 'factory', but I did mine nearly a year ago and have had no problems since.
Ian.
Had the 182 MOT'd last week and the guy remarked that my top mounts would need replacing soon. He showed me some up and down movement at the top of the strut while the wheels were off the ground.
So, bought some new top mounts, removed the strut and the old mounts looked new, even when compared...
Came home from a few days away to do top mounts and replace lemforder inner tracks rods with genuine that will fit!
Took the strut out, top mount looks ok, but the spring is broken. Arghhhh!
My 182 passed the MOT today :-)
The MOT guy just commented that my exhaust heatshield was coming loose and my nearside top mount will need looking at soon.
So, I have a non cup 182, do I need spring compressors to change the top mount? Sure I read it wasn't needed on this model.
Cheers, Ian.
Bought a pair of inner tie rods from ECP, bought lemforder part number 600745365 correct part for an SMI rack on a non cup 182, 2005.
Put the car on stands, removed the old rods, fitted the new, put the track rod ens on 20 turns to get a similar steering toe in, checked the measurement from...
I took the battery cover off, but it was a fiddle, luckily I dont have hands like dinner plates!
I should train my seven year old to change them and rent him out!
Ian.
Hi! The V6 TT has gone :( , the wife has bought an albi 197 :S and I have hwer old 182 :approve: .
Are there any more days at Curborough planned in the next few months??
Ian.
My 182 is due for an MOT in a month, so I thought I'd have a check as it was my wife's old car!
Found leaky rear shock and play in the off side wheel bearing, no problem, new genuine parts ordered for both sides £200 inc new hub nuts!
Checked the front and there is a tiny bit of play both...
Part didn't arrive Monday, popped into Renault on the way home to be told the parts are due in France tomorrow.
I have a feeling of deja vous.
Appaling service, parts won't be here until next Monday at the earliest.
Apparently Renaul have just installed a new parts system, the new one...
I had the wheels on the wife's 197 done at city, they took a few days longer than they quoted, but I'd expected this after reading some reviews.
I'm really pleased with the finish for £20 a wheel and they swapped the tyres over (old for new) for £10 a wheel.
Obviously, the centre caps don't...
