If you've knackered the hard drive mechnically, don't hold much hope in getting anything off of it, without sending it away. Copying data is fine as long as the mechanics are OK.. (deleted files, formatted etc.. you can normally get back fine). And, if you do send it away, it won't be cheap..

OSX with no anti-virus/spyware on my laptop ;) Symantec Corp Anti-Virus on Windows desktop at home, with Ad-Aware and Spybot. Linux servers with clamav for anti-virus on incoming mail.. Sorttttted! :D

Nah, it does use Vodafone firmware.. but I've compared it to an O2 (and that's unbranded) and the changes are worthwhile I think. I have different buttons on my Voda k800i which makes it better. There isn't anything really which makes Vodafone live annoy you.. it's just the normal web...

Not a chance will it take over from Sky - it's a different product looking at it? You have to pay per film etc.. otherwise it's just Freeview? AND, no Sky Sports - so it fails ;)

Google doesn't really work like that.. The only way to ensure it's on search hits, is to pay for it (adwords etc..)

No, you need VMWare Workstation or similar to create images.

VGA vs DVI is very dependant upon the panel being used (in the TFT). Some it makes no difference (My Samsung 172x's for example), some it makes a big difference.
