A friend of my recently bought an old toyota corrola twin cam 16V. Its been completely stripped, no dashboard, no door coverings, no sound insulation, no spare wheel, no rear seats, infact its just bare metal inside plus 2 racing seats. It has a induction kit and racing exhaust and is lowered...
Apparently this is very common with 4 pot brakes, as it was common occurance on the Brembo brakes on my previous car (Fiat Coupe 20VT).
Have a look at

Theres definitely a forward facing on the A413 near Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross and witnessed someone getting caught and it flashed purple/pink.
Focus RS are quick, Id say the RS driver was inexperienced as theyre pretty new the engine would be pretty tight and maybe still in the running in period.
Was it one of these?

If it was they youre busted.:(
My car came from the Netherlands which is identical to UK spec. Cars sourced from Belgium have slightly lower power output, higher restrictions on emissions I think and cars sourced outside the EU don;t have the underseal I think. Best do a search on the forum.
FS,
a bit O/T but those are pretty good quality pictures, are you using a digital camera? Im thinking of getting one myself yuo see, but dont know what to get. Any tips?
Ive so far done just over 14000 miles on the original tyres and still have a it more left, should get a further 1000 miles maybe 2000 miles. I swapped fronts to the back at about 7500 miles. Probably get 4 Eagle F1s at my first tyre change.
Initially I thought the new Megane looked a bit sh1te, but having seen it in the flesh its not too bad. We should congratulate Renault for bring out something that look completely different and doesnt conform to the mini mpv look (Civic, 307, Stilo, Corolla, C3, Focus etc).
Anyone manage to test the new 172 traction control? Snow rally, excellent fun, only problem is one side of my car is covered in snow and have snow and ice caked on in the wheel arch and underside...
If you go back a year youll see similar sort of posts along the lines of the MK1 vs. MK2 and before that 172 vs Williams. Give it few months time and itll be MK2 vs. MK3 Clio.........Lets not sl*g each other off (though it has been an entertaining read;)) and respect the choice made on the...
She stalled the VFR bike she was racing not the Clio. Id say she could drive as they wouldnt have a presenter that could drive on a car program. Though Id say she was more into fast bikes than cars. Still made good watching...
As a former owner of a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo, I can say that the Fiat was either driven by a grandma or there was a problem with the car (not uncommon unfortunately although mine was fine). The 20v Turbo will get you to 100 in 14.5 seconds in standard form and is definitly faster than my C172...
Mopeds!!!!! Flicking channels on TV and caught a program called Revved up last night. Ok so they were no ordinary mopeds, one can do a 1/4 mile in 12.5 sec!!!.
Anyways, they did an article on people who "maxed" up their modpeds. Max Powered mopeds..., will wonders never cease. A group...
Depends on what you want from the car. I youre a high milage driver, you might appreciate the 172 more than the cup. If its only used for short blats and for track use then the cup. Real world performance between the two is very small on the roads, though the cup may feel alot faster that it...
190s are like the old VTECs used to be, all power and torque high up in the rev band. Doesnt start to lift its skirt until above 6000rpm and even then its only 133lb/ft.
200+ bhp through the front can be a handful especially if the chassis isnt designed for it, however, its not uncommon especially with new "hyper" hatches that are starting to appear. But Im happy to make do with "only" 172bhp.:D 200+bhp on a Clio will potentially highlight the limitations of...
Rob, Yes I am a speed freak! :D hence I normally only achieve 200 miles from a full tank and love putting my foot down at any given opportunity (safely of course!). But I have learnt the hard way that high speed and twisty roads dont mix too well (hence no more Fiat Coupe!) and has...
Rob, given the choice between a 172/Cup and a S3, I would take the S3. I have test driven a S3 so this is an informed choice and not because of some magazine review. At the time I bought my 172, the S3 was still out of my price range and given the money I had £12K OTR for a brand new 172 is...
