a 30mm Deep fibrglass backplate with the PiperX C603D Sausage filter with 90mm internal height gives 120mm total internal height.
SO gives the 90mm trumpets 30mm of "breathing space" inside the filter, fits spot on :)
My whole car sounded tinny as f**k with a decat when it was running (ITB F7R). I changed it to a silenced decat and it took ALL of the tinny'ness out.
So swap to a silenced one if possible if you dont like :)
The fact its been throttle bodied probably accentuates the fact the cam timing was out with the spluttering that standard plenum probably "masked", or that might just be BS i typed :D
Hi,
SHoving an F4R into my mk1 shell shortly, one thing ive not looked into and nor can i remember is the routing of the coolant pipes, i believe theres only 4 pipes? so it should be quite simple.
Does anyone have some pictures they could stick up to show?
I mean standard 172 routing in a...
The way i see it after reading between all this squabling
Car went in with 155bhp.
Car fitted with bodies and mapped with incorrect timing makes 184bhp.
Cam timing correct, but mapping not changed to suit correct timing, 130bhp.
Is this not just a simple case of a remap on the correct timing...
I'd say on the inlet side, your better off making sure its just perfectly port matched, i wouldnt worry about enlarging. Smaller port, higher charge velocities, more torque.
Im interested about the exhaust side, as there is obviously room for improvement, im in the same position but i dont...
Im using a Chadil DCOE manifold from my old engine that fitted a meganne head, and making it fit an F4R head.
The top hole slot out, the bottom ones dont so i need an alternative method of clamping it all down.
They are M8 holes, slotted sideways a bit. The CAD drawing is a bit cluttered an OTT.
THe important dimensions are the M10 holes are 64mm apart, and the top holes are 100mm above the M10 holes.
The M10 holes are very loose (drilled to 12mm), and the top holes slotted sideways to take into...
I'll be doing stand off injectors on mine once its built, dont know of any road going clio with an 8 injector setup so far?
My only worry is the 2nd rail is literally going to be hanging out the front of my bonnet lol
I'd run the injectors from the ITB's and make little blanking plugs for the original injector holes. More atomisation, more power ;)
I use VEMs, and it can control 8 injectors independantly (and upto 16 injectors in pairs)
