Yeah, at the flywheel should have 167/170bhp, depending on what type of bhp the RR is measuring in. If I were you, I wouldnt worry about it. Its more likely that the RR is wrong than your engine.
At the last RR I went to, the guy had to keep on doing runs to get the at the wheel figures...
Holts might be okay for a puncture, but when I was driving my MK2 172 around with no spare, and I got a flat, I hopped out of the car with my Tire Weld in hand, only to discover that the whole sidewall of the Contish*te had come off, rendering the foam utterly useless.
Are these at the wheel figures, or flywheel figures? If its wheels, it sounds too high, if its fly, it sounds too low!
I just dont trust rolling roads. Even supposedly reliable ones turn out to be disappointingly inaccurate.
Yeah, but couldnt get a straight answer about which kit was which so gave up on them. Want standard springs on for when I sell it anyway, and Im not selling it with the naff mk1 springs on it.
lol, you should try some after market springs. The spax ones Ive got on now made the Cups seem very soft.
Mind you, Im with you on the pogo stick comment. The MK2 172 werent too bad, but the MK1 172 springs....god knows what Renault were thinking. Theyre terrible, and visibley "taller" than...
Seen it all before when the MK2 was released and then when the Cup came out. Now its exactly the same for the 182. Comical really, given the minute differences between the versions of the car.
Is it? Not without a driveway or garage it isnt! Living on quite a steep hill doesnt help much either  Will have to pay Charlie Browns another £60.
The Cup is supposedly 3mm lower than the MK2 172. I remember reading something about it being the change in some angle or other that makes the car lower, not the springs.
Ive got a set of MK2 springs with only about 2000 miles wear on them, and am thinking of putting them on. Drove abbs172s...
Like Rich says, ABS doesnt make you invincible, but on the other hand, my current 172 would be written off if it werent for it, so Im a firm ABS supporter!
Edit - for the record, I was pootling down the road at 30mph (really!) and a car on a side street started to pull out. He then rolled...
Much nicer interior in the mk2 (apart from the colour stitching and white dials in the mk1!), but the dozy buggers at Renault forgot to take out the rattles along with the old dashboard.
My MK2 172 was also April/May 2002 and that didnt have traction control. This came a few months later IIRC.
The 70mm Supersprint system gave a definite gain over standard cars at a recent RR day. Up to 10bhp at the wheels, but I dont know about other systems though.
You try recording an exhaust using a pair of headphones sticking out of the boot in place of a microphone! And the booming noise happens much more inside the car than outside the car. Strange, but true!
Might be, the box does look similar to to Lee Ms pics. Ive got a pic of the Mongoose system, and that also looks identical to whats on mine. Are Mongoose and Magnex the same :o:o:o
Plenty of people have decatted twin lambda sensor 172s. Despite promises of problems with sensors, the only product to have the lights come on was the k-tec sports cat, but I dont think the guy posted how that particular situation panned out.
As far as I am aware, you can disconnect the second...
I think the supposed "99.9% uptime" web hosters might not be as reliable as they say. Ill upload to some different webspace.
