The 182 that i drove the other day seemed fine from around 3k revs and that only had 246 miles on the clock. Bear in mind that Ive been driving around in a car with 177lbft of torque at 4k revs for the week, so the 182 really should have felt flat at low revs....but it didnt. Maybe another case...
Best Ive heard for volume and quality of sound is the Pipercross foam filter. I used a K&N on mine but it was pretty quiet and drowned out by the magnex.
I need a new head unit and CD changer. It needs to be good value for money and I dont want a headunit with loads of flashing lights that actually tells you piss all, just something functional and easy to adjust when driving and if itll play MP3s off CD-Rs, then all the better. Ive got some...
Im in Sheffield and its a bit heavy to post. Can meet within reasonable distance up and down the M1 corridor really. Drop me an email mailto:rhys172@yahoo.co.uk">rhys172@yahoo.co.uk if youre interested. Got a de-cat pipe going cheap too ;)

Ive got a Magnex cat back stainless steel system for sale on the "Other for sale" section for £190 if youre interested. I used this to replace the standard exhaust on my mk1 172 when it started to fall to bits. Much better quality than the original and sounds excellent.
Think your first mistake was taking a car thats out of warrenty to Renault. Theyre not getting their hands on mine for its next service. Not sure where its going to go, but its not going to be a Renault dealership.
lol, I tried cable ties at one point. Didnt work for me! Ill take a pic of what is left of the strapping.
And yes, its in very tight. I just cleaned up the rubber that was left on the rubber mount (I used Gunk engine cleaner). Then I superglued the piece of rubber strapping to the big rubber...
Yeah, that buzzy, rattley, loose bit of metal in exhaust system sound. Although I didnt think a 1.2 would rev to 12000rpm ;). Its actually 4000rpm or thereabouts where it starts to rattle on a 172. Deeply irritating. At what revs does it happen on a 1.2?
Ive been cursed with the 4k rattle on both the 172s that Ive had. Renault have never been able to fix it for me and Ive now heard countless different reasons for it.
I recently changed my standard Renault exhaust system to a stainless steel system, and I was hoping this would solve the rattle...
Ascar have fitted de-cat and a few other bits that I bought of other people. They always seem to charge £25 and work seems to be of a pretty high standard (well, Ive not had a problem with them so far).

Constructive....
200CUP - I think what Tom is trying to say is that there is no 200bhp upgrade available from the factory. Unless youve arranged it via someone you know in Renault (like TonyKart), then I think someone is pulling your leg. Who has told you that you can buy a 200bhp factory...
It was worth it for me. I had GAP insurance on my Williams when it was stolen. Id have been well fecked if I hadnt had it. As Mike says, its worth it if you are buying the car on finance as if you suffer total lost the finance company will make you pay the difference between what the insurance...
lol, go king stromba. I mean the Williams is a great car, but why do you need 3?!
Doh, having said that, its just occurred that if this Evo article goes the right way, advertising a Williams in the back of Evo in the next issue might just turn a profit...
Id be tempted by Titanium silver again. Its so easy to keep clean compared to most other colours. Always looks good when its pissing it down, which in this country is most of the time.
Well, Im booked in for a test drive of a 182 at 14:00 on 13th Feb, so I guess Ill have some idea of whether it really is better than the Williams at about 15:00 on Feb 13th!
I think youre going to be looking at a 15.0 1/4 mile (as quoted by Reno), compared to the Cups 14.8 and the 172s 15.1. I wouldnt change for the extra 10bhp, but the chassis adjustments could sway me....
