Any 172/Cup owners found theyre car lumpy at about 6/7K miles? I reckon I need an oil change - the service light comes on randomly and the words OIL flash on the dasdh in the mornings but the oil symbol light is never on? Also I changed the front and rear tyres over at the weekend and the car...

NOPE 35MM LOWERING SPRINGS AND FRONT AND REAR STRUT BRACES 205 WIDE TYRES - STICKS TO THE ROAD LIKE GLUE AND BECAUSE ITS UNDERPOWERED COMPARED TO THE CUP - YOU CAN GET ALL THE POWER DOWN VERY SMOOTHLY WITH NO WHEEL SPIN !
SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK.......................
The 1600 can whip the cup on the twisties - I just aint got the grip and unless i get a spot on launch I really have to struggle to keep up - My Fiancees just a really good driver (for a girl) .............lol
They are getting 172 Cup samples sent to them and will be developing a full suspension system for the cup - fully rida and height adjustable - £800 +vat + delivery and Im number 1 on the list peeps!
Dash - ur v6 would never look like an orion - ud have to get it sprayed rust brown and that would just be too much............lol can I buy ur side pods and quarter panels when ur done with them BTW
Yup - the exhaust came with the kit - fully stainless steel unlike the actual V6 mild steel effort...................Dash hope ur not trying to compare my 1600 to that orion - lol ...............ever so slightly different league me thinks and one of the nicest 1600s there is - according to the...

S0H00BY - have you reregistered under a different name - I distinctly remember chating to you a bit about the cup when you got yours - u have blue buckets in your cup dont you?
Once u hit 120 in the cup there is a gap between the point from shifting to 5th when the revs fall below the cam coming on again - once the cam comes on in 5th u are around to 140+ in no time again! lovely jubely
You cant modify beyond recognition a car entered for Grp N compettion has to be basically showroom production model with added bits which are strictly regulated and controlled so you cant exceed the regs or power output of the car etc.

guys were talking 10mm on each rim - I for one wouldnt notice that but more tyre = more grip/traction and seeing as 205/45/16 is a tyr size then it wont have any effect on performance or handling except to make it better! Im having serious trouble keeping up with my Fiancees 1600 16v (137BHP)...
My mate has a 2002 WRX and weve both driven each othere motors etc - nothing in it, in fact the cup has the edge with a good launch, scooby pulls ahead past 140......
because the width of the rims on the cup are 7.5 as opposed to the 7 inch ones on the standard 172! Had mine measured for computer wheel balancing and the calipers measured 7.5, so that would count for the extra inch 25mm wider track combined with a different offset too!
I had them measured yesterday when I was changing the front wheels to the back and vs versa - they are indeed 7.5 inchs - urs I believe are 7 !Guy had to programme after measuring the rim for computer wheel balancing !
Exisitng cup tyres are crap - no grip, rol and slide everywhere - will 205 series tyres fit on the rims - I was told they will coz the alloys are 7.5 inch wide as opposed to 7 inch?
