BenR- I realised that the scooby STi logo was a mirror of 172 - freaky (well its almost a mirror and I reckon against the blue of the cup done in pink it would look good) !!!!!
When ordering a touch up paint stick do i ask for "CUP BLUE" please?
Philip if u can design a natural (human) gas system with a supercharger Ill sponsor you to develop it.............lol
Anyone noticed how the pink STi badge could be modified for a cup to read 172 ie the Ti becomes 17 and the S if you reverse it and stick it on the end - 172 in a lovely pink which would mimic the Sti badge but be relevant to the CUP (the pink goes lovely with the blue of the cup me thinks?)...
lol - my weight fluctuates in the mornings - bas bowel system so I defo notice a difference in accelaration say on a Monday than from a Friday - great sound effects too..............
Eddd - ur absolutely right - asubaru would claim though that they started the Wprld rally blue thing but we all know that they pinched it from the Williams!
KDF - ur absolutley right - they should have had sports race seats and 200BHP and prodrive style upgardes from day one - what a c**k up...
Oh and the badges were lovely - Ive stuck 22 of them all over the car now just so people know the difference betwen the lesser standard last years 172 model................;)
What a laugh! Ermmmm Blaze you dont have conclusive proof that the planned warranty friendly mods for the CUPwont happen so until Renault clear this matter up - dont make assumptions coz we all know assumptions are the mothers of all F*&K ups - theres no point arguning that it wasnt an...
I did about 6 months ago when I bought the cup mate - I choose the cup over a 172 Mk2 because
A/ it was quicker
B/ is the last incarnation of the 172
C/ had nicer wheels
D/had sh*te seats that can be ripped out for better ones
E/ had no useless toy sthat i wouldnt use anyway
F/had a...
Nah, Autoexpress has pictures of the new clio due out early next year with the renault sport version at the end of 2004! Range to include a cabrio too! If theyre bringing out a 180BHP version of the clio - it wont be called the 172 anymore will it...............180 doesnt have as good a ring to...
Neither - I put them on and took them straight of - only look good on silver - dont ruin your cup by putty lexus lights on - save the money for something else mate!
Next cliosport survey should be "On average how many times do you use your air-con button? Never, once or once every 3 years.........." What are we women? Driving aint about how many buttons u have to press and how loud your bass box is - (adds to the overall pleasure of course but also causes...
Guess you should stick to the CTR owners forum instead of wasting time trying to tell evrrone on a CLIOSPORT website how brilliant the CTR is - if I had a CTR I wouldnt be on here - doh!
LMAO - u crack me up mate? I actually drove up there once and seriously considered the possibiklity of getting stuck - dont know how they ever managed to squeeze a golf club up there?
I think the problem lies with companies claiming 200BHP conversions - as we all know the output of one engine varies (drastically in some cases) from another - surely the conversion would have to be car specific and not just a plug in and hope for the best type system - one conversion is foing...
trading standards anyone? - doubt a registered and well established company is going to their customers off! Theyve obviously spent a bit of time on this one and if it costs £1200 - ull get what u pay for - id be more worried it it cost £29.99 and then they made the claim of 205BHP Cup conversion?
Nope - never had rubbage - though when taking of slowly in first and second there is a knocking/clunking noise coming from rear axle or exhaust somewhere? Never had the clunking on turning either?
What I meant was - the cups/172 are meant to have 172 at the fly (not the wheels) coz all manufacturers power figures are taken at the fly so if someone gets a reading of 186 either the RR is out or they have a scorcher engine?
Why would u be going form any gear into reverse???? I have to question your mental stability right now, but anyone wo is actiully in ayy 3rd or 4th gear u would think would be going forward doing somewhere around 50/60 miles an hour so why the hell would u even contemplating going into reverse...
BTW who says Michael Schumacher would be able to drive a 172/R5 GTT - he might F&*K it up - just cozz hes one of the best F1 drivers ever, doesnt make him a God in all vehicles - put him in a rally car and hed probably fluff it!
Renault are F&*%ing tw*ts - make up your mind - the cup is an homologation special (Eddd back me up with your list of homologated cars for the FIA) and wasnt meant to have loads of buttons, aircon and traction contro and abs - how many track cars or competition cars have any of those...
Danny my friend - a 1600 it is but tuned to near 140BHP! THought it was quicj until I bought the cUP but it just gets the traction down unbeleivably and corners like glue! I have a hard time keeping up with the wife when she is driving the RSR!!!!!
Cheers David for backing me up there - they are real carbon fibre and look mint - work best on silver though, and any colour other than black!
The grab handles are from the Mk1 172 - thats the way they came as standard - full 172 interior!
