lowering a cup on springs is pretty pointless -there isnt enough sprung weight to make any noticeable difference to the back end! the front will drop a bit but coilovers would be the best option. Also the cups suspension geometry is differnt to the 172 - it has 3 degrees of negative camber at...
Anyone changed their bulbs in the non xenon headlights ie 1200s and 172CUPS? I want a whiter/bluer light effect? Other than buying a set of xenons from a scrappy?
I take it the driver of the CTR isnt a mate of yours then? How do know hes a bad driver? Typical - Im sure you would have won though of course! Anyhow 172CUP = Trackcar, CTR = Breadvan..................and you cant say that the CTR driver wasnt trying - of course he was - do you really think he...
Check them out........................

Ive had those on my 1600 16V RSR for the past 18 months - got them from prima - theyre not new. Very nice though, but only on silver with window tints!
What did I tell u - hed say the driver wasnt trying - typical response when u get a toasting and naturally he would have done it differently - if a Mk2 172 can whip the CTRs ass then a 172CUP will also being lighter and all that...........;)
Dash - hilarious as always!
Have a wee look at this mate and watch a CTR getting toasted around a track - ull notice the 172 near the end (once passing the CTR) start to develop a rather impressive lead!!! Note also this is a Mk2 172 and not a cup172! Enjoy...
Idiots indeed - a cup in mondial blue with leather aircon is a bloody 172 - tw*ts - if id wanted that I would have bought it - anyway as Jeremy says production ends in September /October - make way for the new 1200 clio model in the new year!
Because we are into cars, performance and tuning and we like to have the best!...........lol pretty normal to me..............bought the cup for that reason apart from being cheap, but that it was fresh, had great reviews and is the quickest car for under 20 K
CTR looks lovely, has abetter interiorif ur into all those poofy gadgets and millions of buttons! Have u seen the new Type S - thats what a TYPE R is underneath an ugly MPV, at least the 172 is a proper hatch! The172 has 4NM more torque too...............and the CTR costs more, and as standard...
He obviously hasnt raced too many cups - they were probably 1200s done up with 2.0 litre badges...............lol, and 219 BHP aint enough on the road to toast a car weith 172 BHP/Tonne.............Correct me if Im wrong but the CTR has 166BHP/Tonne?
The difference is - there is only one large headlamp unit - ie one bulb, instead of twin ones like on the clios- and the indicator is to the inside instead of above - I think - dont know for sure though?
The new civic type S - lol - thats basically a detuned type R and thats what a type R looks like under the 5 extra body panels it has! - how sh*te does it look - wait till the boys start buying the skirts, hatch spoiler and front and rear spoilers to have a look a like!
According to Renault "the cup will be available as part of the renaultsport range for ONE YEAR from release" Hence, thats why its apparently due to finish production in September/October, before the new Clio makes its appearance in the early part of next year. So it will only continue to sell...
Is this sl*g CUPSIZE day BenR?............or are you just having a bad day?
BenH - I agree, the 180Pug is only out! Hasnt really taken of yet though! They really should have made more of it performance wise? Yeah, the cooper S, not realy as quickas its made out to be! Impressed with the VTS...
Has anyone else noticed that in all the recent media publications - they always test the RS FOCUS, R32 Golf, Seat Leon Cupra R, Alfa Romeo thingy - and leave out the relatively new CUP - I mean its on a par performance wise IMHO, fair enough the interior and gadgets is lacking but its as good...
I bought one thinking it would fit the 1600 2 years ago! Cost me £40 in Glasgow from a dealers if I remember - have it on the cup, but the more I see engines with out it I may ditch it - anyone want it???
M3 would murder a cup........? and the handling of the cup is pretty sh*te really.......very boaty.........gonna have to do something soon about that..........any suggestions?
