Fitted those green stuff pads to my car on Friday.... Gave them a good run-in period then had a little test..... I dunno what people was saying that they are crap as my brakes worked from cold no problems..... I think they are so much better too, prob all in my mind as a feel good factor but im...
You should notice some difference when using optimax... What I noticed was I get another 5mph flat out speed along the same bit of motorway....
The time you really notice it is when you get your car tuned to run on 97 ron and above as most cars are set from factory to run on real sh!te petrol...
Lol chill... Im just mucking round... Ive done all I want to do to my car im just saving up for a Type R or something...
Ive got K-Tec Relocation pipe and piper X filter, K-Tec Exhaust, Green stuff pads and Spax suspension... There is no point in doing much more as you say its only a 1.2...
RobFenn are you sure you have posted enough? lol 10612 ha haha ahahaahahhahahhahahah
Back to post.. I get this in my car but thats because I got different size tyres on the front than the rear....
I was told by Dartford Tyres that 205s wouldnt go on 15" rims coz they are not wide enough... There is already hang over on 195s so 205s would take the pee.. lol
I only changed the fronts coz they were bald and I had 185 55 15s standard and they were £25 more than the 195 50s........ Its a front wheel drive anyway so more grip is needed from the front rather than rear so it cornered faster and kept the revs up through the corners.... Also had a nice...
Got a nail through my tyre last night...... They were getting pretty low anyway got 2 bald ones so thought 4 new ones would be nice.
That means I wont have wider tyres on the front no more :-(
Im going for bridgestones RE720 195 50 15s I think they the best Ive ever used good all round all...
BenR no need to get touchy im only having a laugh... F1 is won in the pits lol. I wouldnt be behind you id have slipstreamed you and pulled alongside.. :-P
Benr did I say I lurch into a corner? I do know about car ballance ya know... I actually am a smooth driver but if you brake later and make it stick id beat you everytime..... Most racing is won and lost on braking take F1 for instance... Even Touring Cars..... So give me that cant drive crap...
YEah this had happened to my car lots of times.... Renault couldnt find a fault mainly because they just hook it up to a computer and if that dont point to anything they are lost.....
No im basically saying that if you drive on the roads with a lot of braking required and you drive like that for ages your brakes dont have time to cool and you get fade..... Uprated discs and pads help with this as pads can work at higher temps and the discs help desipate heat and the gas thats...
I think the fact of the matter is I can drive thats the whole problem..... I can brake at the last minute, knock speed off as fast as I can controlled until i release and corner the car. Now thats the whole point of racing... Now you try 30 mins of flat out racing with heavy last of the late...
Well main reason im buying Green stuff is the fact that they can take greater heat... Ive come off a motorway doing 110 and had flat out braking for a roundabout and my brakes faided.... Ill try the green stuff and if I dont rate them Ill let you know. Id rather just get 172 discs/calipers and...
Your find that even though the wankle on that mazda is a 1.3 the petrol usage and emmisions it produces is more like a 2.5/3l engine..... They are engines like the type r as they are not very torqy and need high revs for the bhp...
Advantages is the fact that its lighter and less to go...
I had my 18 k service a few weeks ago and they said my brake pads were 80% worn.... Dont wana buy standard stuff so was looking at some green stuff. Now they seem to do rear shoes and front pads but there is a choice of 4.... Can anyone help? its a 1.2 16v 2002
Changing them because super 4s give a better responsive engine.... better spark, better starting.... What im trying to say is Renault done it again by inventing a specilised tool that no one can get hold of so they get more money from people having the sh*tty renault spark plugs fitted at...
Epsom aint that far.... Im pretty much on the M25 and its just clockwise a bit. But yeah if you could source one that ill be great.... Why do they make these specilised parts eh?
I brought some Super 4s spark plugs for my clio as they listed them in a ripspeed halfords..... Goes to fit them and could not get a normal spark plug tool in the hole (Top of engine) to remove the old ones :-(
Anyone else had this major problem? Is this tool a specilist renault part? How do...
Give me discs to fill 17s a set of 4 pots and I would stop quicker than a ABS car too.... But we are not on a race track and we never know if there is going to be a slight puddle, leaves anything really that would effect braking.
I dont read autocar im just saying from my own experience... I...
ABS is really designed as a safety feature... All I know is I can really brake hard in the dry and rain and the abs kicks in and I can stop a hell of a lot sooner.... dont care what anyone says I think its a must...
Does not work like that... On any surface you can stop quicker with ABS as there will always be some friction. It does not assume you have stopped as ABS works by seeing if the rear wheels are spining. If they are rotating and the fronts are not then it takes off the break and re applys it...
