Come on Rob, you cant seriously be suggesting that you back yourself 99 times out of 100 to stop better without antilock brakes.
I agree that in icey or loose gravel situations antilock brakes may extend the stopping distance than that of a non antlock system. Due mainly to the fact that in...
ABS sorts you out when things go wrong that you have no control over...
To say a fair driver would stop earlier in a non ABS car isnt correct IMO.
The moment you lock up a whell you have lost the majority of your stopping power. Its true that you should now let off and reapply the brakes...
There was a massive debate about ABS Vs. Non-ABS cars in EVO mag about 6 months ago...
They had all sorts of letters off people including an ABS design engineer.
From what I can remember the up shot of the debate was that the thinking behind ABS is that in the event of emergency when you...
External means it sticks on to the outside of your car... which is what it sounds like you need...
Internal is... err... well.... the opposite of external... so sticks on the inside of the vehicle ie: not what you want because you wont see it through the tints.
I am now a proud owner of the...
You want them to be loose enough that you can get then off with the spanner supplied with the jack for the car...
God knows why people tighten their wheel nuts up until they need to stand on the wrench. There is no way they need to be that tight.
Trust me they are not going to fall out if...
That car is totally f*cking w*nk.....
Not only has he had the balls to take one of the finest front wheel drive cars ever and dress it up as the thunder tank... look at the finish on the boot!!
It looks like hes painted them with a brush... and its on wonky.
Good job he lives abroad or Id...
Does anyone know a good place to get replacement williams stickers from?
I need a new williams 3 sticker for the side of the beast as its smudged...
anyone had a good result from somewhere?
True about there not being many proper VTSs about.. Ive only ever seen 2.
Still the lack of styling differences gets my goat aswell Craggy... they are too easy to copy.
Not that I was ever considering getting a saxo.. but one of the main reasons I didnt was because a VTS and a VTR look identical apart from side badges
I would hate to see mothers of 2 doing the shopping in a car that was similar if not identical to mine....
In short... Saxos are like...
I reckon its got tonnes of petential in terms of making it look nice...
A bit lower and some bigger wheels and youve got a miniaturised aggressive focus looki-likey... and we all know how good they look.
Only thing being you wouldnt be able to touch it until your warranty ran out... or if...
its the wilmslow bypass paddy... the A34. It has a couple of cameras and then miles of national speed limit tarmac punctuated by roundabouts... quality.
It would have been abot 8.30 seedy old chap.
I got on the bypass about Gatley, was pootling along waiting for a bit of engine temp when a 172 eases past me... clocks on that I am in the beast and floors it.
I obviously leg it after him and so begins about 5 miles of ridiculously fast...
To say that the 172 is old hat when it comes to hot hatches is wrong IMO.
EVO had the 172 as its best hot hatch for ages before the cooper s came out.
Its true that these new cars that somehow have gotten into the hothatch category have ridiculous amount of power compared to the old ideals...
Last night on the good old Handforth bypass got my first taste of the 172.
Things went pretty much as you might expect.. ie: I caught up round the roundabouts but the extra 20 odd horses of the 172 meant it slowly pulled away on the straight bits... I was impressed by their grunt... they...
Tree sap is a pain in the arse.
It wont damage your paint like bird sh*t will but id still get it off as often as poss.
If you wash it once a week anyway youll be ok. I park mine under a tree and it just means that the paintwork look dull with the sap on.
Hence I have to clean the b*stard...
I have just succesfully completed this task and have found that you will need the following equipment.
1) Sharp Knife
2) Sturdy pair of garden seccoteurs
3) Some semtex
It took me approximately 30 mins to get the old one off using a combination of hacking it to bits with the sharp knife...
Calibras are gash.
I remeber when they came out and one of the big selling points was that it had this really small drag coefficient which was meant to mean it was the fastest thing going.... my arse.
Although the turbo version was rapid.
I suppose we will all have to wait till clean16vs...
True... 7.7 secs is for a standard VR6, if its had mucho mods then maybe itll go like stink.
I suppose the proof of the pudding will be in the handforth bypass.
Good luck mate.
I swear down these cars dont do 6.5 secs to 60.
Look on the car comparison thing on the cliosport homepage, their book speed is 7.7 secs to 60....
They are great cars and Id defintiely have one, but they wont beat a williams... which is one of the reasons why I got a williams.
Trust me.
Woah, Woah Woah.... hang on one god damn minute...
The corrado VR6 aint that fast. Its 0-60 time is about 7.5 seconds not 6.5.
This was the other car I was seriuosly looking at before I chose the williams. I just couldnt find a nice one for the money I had.
I absolutely love them, they are...
