fuel pump/ blocked fuel filter?? have you cleaned the carb properly and fitted new gaskets/checked all the vacuum hoses are connected with the one you changed over??

loose bolts, track rod ends not done up poperly or complete lack of setting up the camber/tracking properly??!!

depnds on what you want to use the car for and how deep your pockets are and how you want it to look/perform... eibah/h&r springs are the only ones i would buy for a 197 and will cost about £150-£200 wouldnt bother with cheap coilovers either so your talking around 1k for kw v2 or similar...

a 50 profile tyre leaves a big arch gap on standard suspension. imo get 15's over 16s and 195 50 15 tyres as they are cheaper than 45 profile and get some eibach sportlines with the money you will save....

dependant on the mods it has already i would go down the suspension/handeling route then brakes then breathing/engine!!!

sell them and get some mk1 speedlines or some tatty f1s, much easyer than messing with adaptors and id emagine they wouldnt be cheap either!!

cheap place for coilovers are venom motorsport, dont think you will find coilovers for cheaper than £300 for a mk3!!

1.5mm is hardly going to make any difference, go for the et 37, there will still be lots of room in the front arches...

the clio and 4 stud megane/laguna spares should be fine. depending on your series regs maybe try to get some wider ones from the likes of weller or mk1 williams/16v spares might be a little wider, as the lesser model spares tend to be a s**t width/offset.

depending on size i recon your running too much psi up front for road use... 32 front 27 rear seems to work quite well at this time of year for me!!
