Had the 172 around 5 weeks now, first thing I did was detail the iceberg silver to make it sparkle! Then we were hit with the dust cloud and loads of rain. Plus iv been driving it 60 miles a day along a motorway for work AND its been on a couple of be road blasts on weekends...so the car was...
Got back from work early today and the sun was still out so decided to get the road filth, Sahara dust and bird crap off the car.
Filthy 172!
I gave the car a blast with the hose to get the poo off and try to lift the dust, then went over it with a microfiber mitten and some auto glym...
Re: Rotarty price mistake
I know its not a £5 bargin for a DA but "Clean Your Car" are offering a number of kits for pretty decent value (Around £150) for a DA with a selection of pads and Polishes and the code DW05 gets you a small discount. Also, if you are buying alot of stuff, you can...
I know its a MK2 but the only difference with the bumpers was the lower fog lights, the nose is identical! I thought you meant it wasn't possible because of the shape, Didn't know that about '51 onwards laws, thought it was the same laws for all plates apart from properly old ones who can still...
Im running T1Rs and they are only good for finding the nearest ditch! I really dont rate Toyo tyres at all, the only ones I have faith in are 888's and that's only when im on track giving it the beans and not on a damp road!
BUT...I do get what you are saying! 2x toyo tyres for £115 is a...
Sound, I was expecting more like £5000 with budget tyres because of the "scene tax" these wheels have with the track boyz! :p
Serious note though, Im still just in the research phase at the moment buddy, not in a position to buy. Cambelt and stuff to do first and then its a suspension overhaul...
Just researching at the moment. I could do with a couple of new tyres for the 172, and this has lead me to looking at new wheels as well :D I quite fancy a set of 15" OZ F1, whats the going rate for a set with legal tyres on? I cant find any on ebay that have tyres and there are non in the for...
Re: Rotarty price mistake
Same as above. Email saying it's been refunded from PayPal but the money isn't in my paypal account or my bank...lost that then!
Vinyle FTW!
thats the only photo I have at the moment of my old 5 and it's nose plate! Off centre makes it the car look unbalanced in my opinion, only ever liked it on the Alfa!! I like the JDM look on other peoples cars, but I would never do it to my own!

1st Email @ 9:45am - Failed paymet
2nd Email @ 1:35pm - Payment received and processing.
Payment has left my account, not been refunded to paypal and is recorded as successful.
Chances of getting the DA - Probably about the same odds as finding a fully clothed male...
is that the same ducktail as this one...
I wanted that BBR Turbo above so bad when it came up for sale but it was sold before I could get the money together! I will keep an eye on this thread as i do love a good MX5 :)
Depends what you are wanting from the refurb.... Sounds like you dont want them to be perfect finish show wheels, all you need is some sandpaper to key the surface up and then get rattle canning in that case! I did a set of speedlines Comp 2's on my old rallye as I wanted them white while my...
My last 5 cars
1995 106 1.3 S1 Rallye:- 156k
2002 Saxo 1.6 VTS:- 121k
1994 106 1.3 S1 Rallye:- 134K
2002 Audi TT 225: 143k
2002 Clio Sport 172: 103k
Mileage is just a number, as has been covered, look for service history and maintenance. I would much rather buy a car that's been to the moon...
Ideally your tyre needs to look like this for maximum cornering grip and to be sure the tyre lasts as long as possible! you would be best fitting a 115/50/19 to our 17" wheels to achieve this! ;)
PS /\/\/\ That stretch is ferking ridiculous!
Perfect spec and Lovely looking car! I enjoy a good days detailing! :) Hope when it comes to it, I can find an R27 of this exact spec to replace my 172, such a brilliant looking car! Top work chap. :)
no confusion! The 172 cup and 172 have the same bolt spacing. The 182 is the only one with a different bolt spacing.
and cheers all, I will drop him a message when I am ready to order. More important jobs to get done first when money lets me!!
