The adjustment screw will have snapped and will need welded or replaced. Fit a new one then tension it correctly. When you think it's tight, give it some more as it needs to be tighter than you think.

Always wondered, what is the correct way to wire the cut off switch? Obviously battery +/- but do they need connected to the ignition, alternator, body and one other that I cant remember?

Like the centre console too. I went for Spa oil pressure/temp and a boost/coolant temp sensor then I'm going to get a aem afr gauge to finish it off.
No bother at all and you did get a bargain but it'll be good to see it running on track again so make sure it does. The money saved can by some motul 300v 5w40 oil which is her favorite tipple!
If you are going to the effort of high compression then you are looking to get the very most from your engine and so it would be a waste IMO not to use ITB's.
