If you follow the correct procedure with the correct torques and tools then you cant get it wrong. If you dont follow the correct procedure, torques and tools then you can.
Make sure you are at tdc when you need to be and not in a balancing hole in the crank. This would make the timing out also.
Can you use this kit on standard 1*2 cams with no other mods?
Is it just the 1 cam seal I need then?
I was thinking about turning the length of the inlet cam to the same length as the exhaust cam and then welding up the 3 oil ways on the inlet cam to stop any oil coming through.
If the dephaser solenoid is disconnected, is there any oil still supplied to the dephaser?
I plan to remove the dephaser but don't want oil leakingalong the camshaft to the pulley.
Cheers
No problem mate. Intercoolers are one these things that most will work somehow but some are just easier to fit and pipe.
For the boost you want to run it probably wont need to be anything too fancy. Just one that fits nicely behind the bumper and has convenient positions for the ports.
Megane coolers have one port that points up and I dont think this works very well with the cross member. The focus st intercooler works well though I think but will still need some custom pipework.
If you go for a 2.5" intercooler I may have some more pipework available as it probably wont fit...
There is a flat on the rear of the block that is perfect for it. Weld the boss in place then drill through the fitting to give you the hole. Worked out fine for me and a few other and as Andy says, you wont need to worry about leaks. Just use a good MIG weld and make sure the area is clean.
Youll need to remove the sump for a weld on boss as well as I wouldn't want the swarf to fall into the sump when drilling it.
I've wnt for a weld on boss to the block this time to make sure the drain entry will always be above the oil level. This is not always the ce with a sump return no...
Must have been a squeaky bum moment with the lack of brakes going into duffus. That corner catches out many with brakes so well done holding onto that one.
Good vids too, makes me want to get back on big time!
I was going to say when you said you were fitting plastic spigot rings that they would melt but didn't for some reason lol.
I got some made in aluminium for this reason but mainly use the 2118's so don't need to bother.
Not sure John, but hopefully not too far away. But realistically it will be summer time. There are quite a few trackscotland nights on. I'll check the dates and post up.
Fraz, you would be hated by KH if this was just before BTCC.
