Currently run AST adjustable top mounts set to max neg camber settings. This provides approx 2-2.2 neg camber. Without the use of camber bolts is there any other ways of increasing neg camber?
I had an idea of slightly longer bottom ball joints, would this be a possibility?

After buying the car 2 weeks ago it has annoyed me how bad the paint was. Due to lack of time it has taken me this long to sort it out. Borrowed a hand from Jacko172Cup to help detail/PC it. The car has come up a treat and looks stunning. The wheels are badly marked and will be re-furbed within...
According to myth....
172 - Better for top end
182 - Better for mid-range
How reliable is this?
Looking at either manifold for a full forged itb'd engine with very peaky cams (should peak at 7800-8000rpm)
which would you go for? why?
Personally im thinking 182 manifold but would like some...
With my new setup im looking at simplifying the whole engine bay and car.

Im running an OMEX 600 ecu and Dash2 dash.

Currently got a Alpine X001 connected to a Vibe A3 Amp which powers front Alpine Type X components and Alpine Type R Coax's in the rear. I currently use the standard speaker cable and it works spot on. Im going to buy a Alpine PDX4.150 amp tomorrow to replace the A3 amp.
People always say you...

Currently got two cars. My 172 road car and my 172 track car.
My insurance up to now has been fine, insured the 172 road car fully comp under my own name with my own no claims. The track car is insured under my dads name and i drive that to track days because i had the drive other cars third...
Got a bit of a noise when turning left, doesnt matter how much i turn or how little. As soon as i put a little bit of left steer on it starts like a grinding noise as if something is catching. The noise is like a grinding/groaning noise, generally this would point me to the wheel bearing. I...
Having a new engine built but im unsure how the engine should start its life. Its not a cheap engine so i need to make sure everything is right when it comes to starting it and running it for the first time. I have a few possibilities in terms of how the engine should be ran initially.
1) Fit...
getting my current block bore'd and just woundering whats peoples opinions on removing them completely?
will the fling from the crank be enough to cool the underside of the pistons?
would removing them help with oil pressure?
car's mainly used solely for track and will have a fully forged...
in most clio itb engine builds people seem to use catcam 422 cams. they make good power and people seem happy.
but why not use 423's?
i suspect a higher redline would be required but how high would the redline need to be?

Has anyone ever done this on a F4R engine, if so how was it done and whats the reliability like?
i have heard of machining a bar instead of the hydro mech inside, but thats all i know lol

Cat Cam 551's
Why do people go for the 422's over the 551's?
551's have too much lift? meaning piston/valve contact?

im a chav :( finally fitted an amp into my 172. I hate them with a passion but my Alpine X types and Alpine R-types were severally underpowered and distorting heavily. Working in halfords part time have thier advantages as i got this amp and all the wiring stupidly cheap and it sounds pretty...
got these wheels but have no idea what they are. The centre cap says Lion Hart Wheels but never even heard of them.
They are clio fitment and 17"
They will be for sale and can get them sprayed in any colour if anyone is interested :)

how the f**k am i supposed to fit a power cable for my amp in a 172?
on my 1.2 i just used the bonnet release bung/bulkhead (easy!) but on the 172 it is further up and goes into the scuttle panel. am i going to have to remove half of the scuttle panel and follow it or is there an easy way to do...
can get a set of Dunlop slicks for a very cheap price, i have been sent this and been told to pick which i want. I have no idea what they mean, which should i go for? lol! using 15" speedline corse alloys
Looking at new spec.
Like the idea of Catcam 423's but they would require a redline over 8k to get the best from them.
Obviously i would go for:
High comp pistons
Uprated conrods
valve springs
vernier pulleys (delete VVT)
uprated bottom end bearings
over 8k the hydraulic lifters become an...
