I'm looking for some help from the collective experience of CS!
172 Cup parts (I think) fall into three categories:
Parts which are the same as a Ph2 172 (for example the sideskirts)
Parts which are the same as a base model clio (windscreen)
Parts which were bespoke to the cup (alternator...
Is there a source of the renault parts catalogue covering up to 2003?
Looking at doing some tedious cross referencing, so really need access myself rather than someone who's happy to look up the occasional part.
Cheers
I believe the cup packed 182s had additional strengthing plates on the rear axle and a larger torsion bar. I've seen plenty of mention on the forum but no solid info on the differences.
Does anyone have any pics, or know well enough what it looks like to find some on google?
Cheers
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the panel which ties the sill and the chassis leg together at the bottom of the bulkhead? Mines had the usual jacking damage both on the horizontal face and the sill flange folded over.
Cheers
I mean you'd think that would work, wouldn't you?
Sadly it's like trying to get a quote from a tradesman without losing an evening of your life. Some industries just wont.
I suspect the big thing is more places are industrial and cba with having a decent online presence or someone doing...
Oh they undoubtedly will before taking on the work, but rather than drive round three places all of which are an hours drive away, with a boot full of crap, if I can get some ballpark for what folk are paying I can probably stop at the first place.
Cheers for the info on the axle
What prices have folk been paying for blasting and coating car parts?
Most places seem to want to see the stuff before quoting, which isn't ideal in the current conditions. I've also no idea what is and isn't reasonable as I've not had anything done in years.
Considering doing subframe and...
The next step is a mass based damper on top of the foam to absorb the sound energy. On top of the foam so that it is decoupled from the movement of the panel.
Mass loaded vinyl seems the common choice. In my research so far, I don't intend using it everywhere, but places like the boot floor, or...
Oh absolutely, I've done it with vauxhall and VW in the past, it's always a nice feeling when you find the perfect part, or better still, combination of parts like yout suspected driveshaft situation.
Makes a refreshing change from throwing money at it, or resorting to a hack job!
My Renault diamond on the front grille has been (badly) sprayed anthracite and then stonechipped and I'd like to go back to stock.
Can these be removed from the grille?
Are they the same as base model cars?
Anyone know what they cost new?
Thanks
I'm about to do this on another car of mine, where all the tar pads had broken up and the underlay was jute felt. Can you tell me how rip/crush resistant the foam is? Thanks
Fantastic, thank you very much @barnesautos that's exactly what I was after. Can you tell me what sealant you went with?
yeah I've seen on various threads the seal needs to sit proud and taken plenty of pictures of the old one too
To me, the RS6 is a devastatingly effective every day car with supercar performance. The issue with that is "everyday", its the car for the person who doesn't own an X5, wants silly performance, furniture shopping, labrador carrying, five seats etc. in one vehicle. Fantastic cars, no chance I'd...
I have a 172 with a leak from behind the flywheel. Upon disassembly to replace the crank seal, I discovered the sealant in the main bearing was sliding out, so I intend to do the crank seal, main bearing sealant and sump gasket whilst I'm in there.
I've found plenty of pics and info on the...
