I was going to bid on this, but then I decided against it as all the guys i race with would rip the piss out of me for thinking I was in clio cup or something haha. Hopefully you will be more fortunate.
Thanks for the adivce, I live in Jersey so rust isnt such a massive issue over here as the roads arent salted etc in the winter. Best to go have a good look at it then really, I know its not the type of car that will just keep on going without any money being spent on it. I dont mind replacing...
Hi, Im thinking of getting an R5 GTT and using at as a daily for a few months while im in between cars with an aim to keep it for the foreseeable future as a third car.
The car im thinking of buying is very original has no mods, done 40k, was owned by an old guy. Then some young lad bought it...
You do realise you can buy these for like £35 with postage new >> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250403060578&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Im thinking about building a new motor for my Rally car towards the end of the year but unlike most i dont want a high powered screemer with a narrow power band. I want a useable engine with good torque.
The spec i was think of was:
Balanced crank, Rods, Steel flywheel and Clutch
ARP rod...
It goes off so I dont think its and imobilser issue, I think there is a break in the cables for the TDC sensor somewhere but I need a wiring diagram to find out what pin they are on the ECU plug etc.
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get a engine loom wiring diagram for a year 2000 1.4 16v alize clio. My sisteres clio has been had intermitient starting for a while now, but will not start at all anymore which I thought was down to another dodgy TDC sensor, but I replaced the sensor with a...
Ive done a LHD to RHD conversion on a cup racer and its was as simple as just cutting a new hole for the pedal box and steering UJ in the bulkhead, welding the new steering column bracket on the otherside, then the rack needs changing etc. Was pretty simple on my car tbh, but id imagine its a...
The short wheelbase thing is a common misconception, compacts are exactly the same wheel base a normal E36 saloon or coupe they just have a shorter boot. E36's are far from short wheel base.
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
For those of you who dont think a 20mph crash can cause that much damage to a car at I suggest you go an crash you clio into something hard at 20mph and see how it fairs up. I garuntee you it will be fucked beyond beleif. I hit a tree stump with only the...
Does anyone know how to get to the spare parts catalogues that were on the Renault Sport france website? I cant seem to find them anywhere as they have changed the layout of the website. Its the ones for the Clio cup cars and the Rally cars etc.
Thanks
Mike.
Ok cheers, was thinking about getting some of the bushes as spares for when the original's perish and £90 for all 3 isnt to bad.
Yeah mine already has bolts like I said and its fine, probably because of what happened to yours maybe.
All 3 mounts are exactly the same so if this is a common...
Did you manage to get a replacement mount in the end? On mine it doesnt have studs it just uses bolts. Must have been changed at some point, maybe for reason above.
Why waste money on new valves when the ones she has are perfectly useable, yeah its taken a few hours to clean them up but time costs nothing at the end of the day.
Thinking of fitting ABS to my rally car as in the wet the massive brakes just lock the wheels up if you even look at the brake pedal. Probably wont get used in the dry but id have the choice as it will be on a switch.
The modification I was thinking of doing was splicing the front a rear...
Because manual racks are long and heavy. Try driving a 10 minute rally stage down tight twisty lanes in a 200hp clio with a 75% lockup plate diff and slicks, after 5 minutes your arms will want to give up.
Whats the electric PAS like on mk2 Clios?
Thinking of junking the Electric PAS pump and fitting an electric column on my cup racer as its massive and will get in the way of the cage mods I want to do.
Well i have a sprung one in my cup racer and tbh its fine, bit more bite when it engages compared to a standard clutch but thats all really, not sure id want to use it everyday but its no way near as bad as everyone makes out. Perfect for a weekend/track car, probably wouldnt have on in a daily...
Yep deffinatly worth the cash, I can see them holding there value for a good few years still. They will allways be worth allot more than any other normal track prepared Clio due to the Gearbox and multiple other competition parts on the cars.
Tbh if that was my car i would be asking more for...
Re: The car you wish you never sold... What were they?
First car: Polo 16v. Crashed it twice, second time it got written off :(
Second car: E30 325i sport. Had this at 18 and put it in a ditch within 2 weeks, no harm done though surprisingly. Decided to strip it out to turn into a hill climb...
