The Cup one doesn't sense load. It's just set to feck all effort. It's why they can't tow and have a load capacity of a measly 300kg. That's from my cup manual supplement.
Well that didn't take long!
My cousin did a similar thing and he is a sensible kid I've been in the car with him but he learned to drive in a brand new car and then got into a mk3 fiesta which was all he can afford and knows nothing about cars. I said did your instructor not talk to you about...
Jack it up and get the weight off the wheel and give it a proper look. Hitting a kerb with any force at all can cause a suprising amount of damage. You might be lucky and have just damage a ball joint or Bush.
Also be prepared to get flamed for driving too close or not paying attention. This is...
Maybe the rules under which he competes don't allow it. Hence him saying about his current wheels "which will have to be retained"
I'm no help on this. What size did Clio cup racers run.
Boost hoses coming a drift or loose is more common than you think. Constant problem on DIY modified HDI's and they don't produce silly boost pressure. My 206 had a hose come adrift the other day. Lots of woosh with no go! Luckily only one I could reach as it's all buried down the back of the...
Just ranted my bog standard Cup round a very wet and occasionally dry Castle Combe on 195/45 road tyres and no complaints. We're running two up as well so it's more like a phase 2 172 running one up with a better setup for track use and we still spent most of day overtaking.
Just depends what...
Yes. Just support the engine undo the bolts and replace.
Only use a good fitting hexagon socket on the bracket to body bolts to undo them. Not a cheapo double heaxagon or it will end in tears.
Torque settings are around here but to be honest with the threads likely to have some corrosion just...
It's not exactly the most technically advanced lump but I really like it. Especially as I don't have a modified exhaust and I mostly get engine noise.
A good track day on 98+ fuel usually sorts them out. Always feel very free and smooth on the drive home.
Just did mine and the top gearbox mount as it was also shot. Both are now mounted all the way forward and the gearbox mount nuts done up nice and tight or the gearbox mount moves and it just knocks again.
A few years ago when we ran the 182 FF we were getting good comments but not anymore. Either they don't care or their pride prevents them coming over these days.
With this weather in this country recently the RS3's make a great case for themselves. If you don't try and peel your tyres off the rim at track days with tons of lock and a ton of throttle they'd probably do pretty well even there I would have thought like most good road tyres.
Unfortunately...
Did several wet track days on the pilot sport 3 and they were utterly predictable despite masses of standing water at the airfield day I did. Braking was spot on and traction was as good as I would expect having run dedicated rain and semi-slick track day tyres at sprints in the past.
The rain...
Just done a wet track day at combe that had a dry track for one session at the end with sport contact 3's on. I won't be buying anything else from now on for the Cup in 195/45/16. Have used pilot sport 3's on a 182 in 205/45/16 and they were also really good wether the track was wet or dry...
Welcome! Shame about the garage complaints :( if my Son isn't hogging my garage with something interesting when he is old enough I will be quite sad!
Sleepers are always the best cars.
No. The car will change the ignition timing to suit if it needs to and the knock sensor will keep check while it figures it all out. You may notice very little difference depending on how you drive and how sensitive you are to how a car runs.
You used to have to change distributor settings on...
It's the refuses part! Keeping a woman happy part is totally understandable! I always negotiate time on the car first but she's never refused to do what needs to be done.
Refuses? I don't understand. If I need to take the Clio my wife gets in the Clio and understands or doesn't come. You won't be driving like a loon. If my wife said I'm only getting in the Peugeot as it's the better family car and I refuse to get in the Clio knowing I need to run the Clio I think...
Helix normal uprated clutch is only 185lbs/ft which is rubbish as most standard clutches will take 25% more than standard unless they are awful :(
Sorry not much help.
I get nothing but trouble from middle aged male drivers that want to try it on. Glued to my ruddy back bumper. They must think my car is really unreliable because I'm forever pulling over to let them past. I have no desire to do the Speeds a sport is capable of down a rural road to make a point...
