Could probably dig out some data from the Renault manuals about the sensor but as Fred who knows more about these cars than most of us put together has a suggested a first test I would personally do that.
Can you take it off and weld the join? I have done this in the past with annoying exhausts. Janspeed and Ashley mild steel to name a couple but then they were mild and not stainless steel.
I usually get them Sat right, Mark them and then whip them off and get it welded up. Removes options but...
Doesn't the engine ignore the lambda sensor around that point? I'd get the exhaust sorted and see. Maybe your leak is messing with the sensor. You can't go in for diagnostics with obvious faults not sorted it's a waste of money.
The Cup is a no frills car. Refinement levels are a decade behind the other sports for the simple reason that they're meant to be. It's the closest thing to a good modified 80's hot hatch without buying one. The rest are great all rounders. My dad's 182 FF really was quite nice to potter around...
You were probably doing 77-78 as Speedos are not bang on in these unless you've changed wheels and then you could be over the threshold. 10%+2 for most counties. So you would have been unlikely to be done for speeding. The police think they are saving lives by trying to scare young 'uns. They...
I don't care what anyone says they run properly on the fuel that's recommended for them.
I've been infield at camp and quarry and fishtailed at various places. That's just combe for you. Especially in the wet.
You need to get camp sussed. It's the false apex you get lured into that does it...
Clio's can hold their own around combe you just have to really push them to show up people's bottle limits in faster cars. After all a car is only as fast as it's driver. Get a good run around camp and don't panic about Avon rise and they go pretty well. I want to find that extra speed that's...
Unnecessary put down there. A Clio is not by any means fast by todays standards but it's hardly a snail. Dual carriageway duels aren't what it was designed for.
I still laugh that people compare a TURBO diesel engine with an N/A petrol. A direct injection twin turbo petrol of the same size is...
Just find a quiet flat bit of road. Do 30-70 using 2nd to 3rd with a normal not silly gearchange and then just 3rd in two directions. Then average the results for the 2nd/3rd gear time and the 3rd gear pull.
In between 6 and 7 is what you should expect for through the 2 gears and between 8 and...
I seem to remember the turbo rule was because induction was free. Probably changed due to the number of turbo cars now to allow older cars the option to compete.
Puma I was on about fitted a DIY turbo kit and at the time the engine had to have that as an option or standard from the factory. Competed in road going production in a ridiculous 1800-2600cc class and cleaned up. Only beaten occasionally by a 1.8T Audi that was running silly power. People get...
Maybe fine then. I'd still get clarification if you are planning on winning awards or competing in a championship. Just in case! Most events organisers don't have the time to check. It's other competitors you have to watch out for.
It used to be that if you didn't change the design of the suspension or move pick up points you were ok. If the top mounts are adjustable (i know nothing about the PMS ones.) that may cause problems as you are moving a suspension point.
I'd e-mail the MSA. I always did as you then had clarification if someone kicks off but then someone competed in a Turbo converted puma and won trophies for years that didn't comply with the rules.
Renault manual shows a compressor that just looks like a type of G clamp. Smush them in.
Probably as much of an arse as trying to change a shock when you can only get one wheel off the ground. My car has the minor scars from other people's levering efforts. It's why I have rust in one place on...
Is it standard? What inlet temps are you seeing? What's the fuelling like? How much info did you get from the dyno. Can'txadvise what it should be as the only inlet temps I've seen have been with standard Airbox while driving along so that's no use.
As above. If it's had a service and you suspect nothing is a miss then checking or getting the Cam timing checked is well worth it. You need to fit in a horseshoe shaped slotted tool into the cams while the crank is locked in the right position with a pin. If the horseshoe won't slide in easily...
There are camber shims all over EBay and longer bolts. There are limits designed in cars suspension systems. You may find things failing if you push it too far. Also if your driving other people around make sure your car is safe especially if they have no knowledge of your fiddling which takes...
How often do you drive it? Used for a few days my 172 cup is fine but leave it for a week and it's a like teenager the morning after a goodnight out being woken at 5am until it warms up.
