Depends what they mean, sometimes the pulley is reffered to as the tensioner sometimes its the little idler. How much on the receipt was the aux belt kit?? The idler is prone to failing as its really low down behind the arch lining as is a bit exposed to the elements. The garage should have...
The pic I posted is for a rear brake disc. Count the number of teeth on the ring and nag the parts person as Im sure they can get them they just have to dig deep on the dialogies to locate them. Failing that get them to ring up another dealor.
NO idea, the problem is on the dialogies its not normally listed under the car/ driveshaft like it should be. Heres proof they are sold seperatly but i doubt this is the right one.
Theres not that much to it, its just a metal split sleeve with a strong bolt going through it. I have a old one in my garage ill take a pic a bit later.
Jacking on a slope can be very tricky. Ive got the yellow halfords 2 ton one. Cant fault it, Ive been using it for years, always does the job and never leaks. Have a look at machine mart they have a good selection, some have plastic grips which prevent scratching the underseal off.
As above, the seal where the linkage goes in is sometimes sprayed for lubrication. Check the gearbox oil level and top up if neccesary and check it each week for a while.
Re: ph1 172 sometimes doesn't want to start for
Try taking the TDC sensor off and cleaning it. Do a search for guide. Is it only hard to start when warm?? As if so it could be the coolant temp sensor.
Re: Clio Buying guide
The original 172 buyers guide in EVO was in mag 089 (march 2006). A lot of the guide Ive incorparated into my guide in the guide section on the forum.
Thanks for your help. I had trouble finding the correct union length and size from anywhere. Got home and had another go. The end of the union had flared slight from being overtightened over the pipe flare. Luckily managed to knock something up to squash it back in and all eventually scewed...
Fitted the better goodrich lines this morning and bled my brakes. Got to the last one and the thread on the union is buggered. Ive tried everything to get it to screw into the new brake line but it wont go in. It wont go back into the old line either. I take it the brake pipes on the car are...
The 20NM Nut is the top mount that you can see in the engine bay. If its a 172 you may be able to remove the rear springs without removing the lower shock nut. If not then to be honest you can remove either just to lower the trailing arm down further to pop the spring out.
It wont cause any problems. Whether you buy discs with them or without them. If you buy discs without them they will just have the space where they can be fitted.
