I think it helps save if you have basic mechanical abilities. For example if you service the car yourself, or if say the rear discs/bearings need replacing. Would you be comfortable doing this yourself?? Ive saved a hell of a lot by fixing the car myself. Every now and then something may need...
I change mine with this:

Cant fault it, 3 litres seems to take it to the max. Make sure you change the washer on the sump plug and dont loose the rubber washer on the butterfly fill bolt.
Could be a number of things, can you take a pic. Is it all below the exhaust manifold? Is the oil black or gold? Could be oil leaking from the back of the sump seal. Could be the driveshaft leaking grease and splashing the back of the engine or could be a gearbox oil leak. Try checking...
You will probably destroy the bearing pressing it out the old disk. Best bet is to buy the renault disks with the bearings in or buy new bearings for your disks. The bearings dont last long anyway.
The standard steelies are offset et36. 172mk2 wheels are et48. The wheels will not stick out far enough (looks wierd) and may rub at the back.
I think those that have fitted them use spacers. You will be better off using 172 cup wheels as they are et38.5. I fitted them to My old Grande...
Spotted a very nice silver 172mk1 lowered on antracite turninis. Im sure Ive seen it on here before, recognised the numberplate. It looked a bit like carbon copies old one.
Anyone??
Ramps probably easier as no need to take wheels off. Its a lot easier on the 182. On the 172 its a 2 man job. If the bolts/nuts are rusty try spraying some penetrating grease on them the night before you carry out the work.
Has it always done it since having the new exhaust?? You could try replacing both exhaust mounts. The middle mount can sag after a while and the back mount perishes.
Has it had new bearings all round? Sometimes it can be hard determing which one is gone, does it get worse when turning right or left? Also check arch lining to see if wheels/tyres are rubbing them.
You can buy stickers from halfords that tell you where to stick them on a mk2ph1 with dual optics. However there is no need. On 172mk1s theres a little slider on the back of the light unit that swithces them from rhd to lhd. IIRC the slider is hidden behind one of the rubber boots that stop...
You could easily get a 2nd hand original bumper and grille for a lot less. If its a popular colour like above I dont think you would have to worry about spraying either. As for the bonnet, can it be bent back into shape? A body shop might be able to sort that out.
Probably better off contacting a scrap yard or someone like matt black. Will be quite expensive from Renault. Not sure if other Clio IIs share the same part.
Aux belt kit, air, oil, cabin filters, new oil and inspect the brakes, shocks, tyres and exhaust. Check windscreen washer, brake fluid, coolant, air con effectivness, powersteering fluid and gearbox oil levels.
