I also have a mint condition spare cluster with bulb holder if needed.
On my old Clio a Co Op lorry reversed into it and they gladly paid for all the repairs, I seem to remember the light cluster being £54 from Renault on the invoice.
The 98-01 Clios do not have this feature unfortunatly. It was the facelift clios that had the key slot in the door to disable the airbag. A child seat shouldnt be put in the passenger seat on a mk2ph1 clio that has a passenger airbag.
The top mounts are different on the coilover, they are designed to incorparate the strut brace, they may fit but you will prob need the brace. Not sure about the hubs and spacing but it looks the same.
The back is a little different, no rubber mounts are used at the top. You will need the...
My 2000 172mk1 on 77k still has the original, started first time on the key after not using the car for 3 weeks. My 1.2 had done 88k and the original on that was still going strong.
I cannot remember, at a guess 12-13mm,. Youll need a little spanner or socket to get the terminal clamps off (around 8mm). You will also need a long extension bar to get down there to get the main clamp bolt off.
Hi mike, is it 1.4 8v or 16v?? The 16v is a lot better and a good all rounder. Check all the electrics, check to see if the cambelt and aux belt(X2 on 8v) has been changed at 72k or 5 years. The electric sunroof is quite rare, this rattles less than the manual but check for any signs of leaking...
Ive got another Renault Leicester one. Was looking at Clio 1.2s when a Renaultsport spider pulls up in the carpark and a salesman points at it and goes "what the hell is that". More annoyingly the saleman at ceder motors refers to my 172mk1 as "your 182 thing".
I beleive only the mk1 Vees were made in Sweden. TWR also built 3 prototypes all black and 1 ended up on ebay a few years back, I think the other 2 were scrapped.
You can get about 70mpg out of them.
The cars made/registered before march 2001 are not measured on emissions so most clio 172mk1, clio 1.8 16v, and Williams will be paying around £200.
The sump plug is 6mm from memory. The oil filter is on the front of the block, you will have to remove the fuel rail guard 2X 10mm bolts (iirc) to get easy access. The join from the cat the the centre section is not a very good match, the gasket from renault is not much, some aftermarket...
What conditions are your rear discs?? As its advised to get new discs with bearings in instead of just the bearings. The discs can easily be damaged pressing the old bearings out. Renault sell the whole package of a pair of discs with bearings in.
The backboxes are the same.
The centre boxes are different, the 172mk1 has a longer centre section to make up for the shorter cat. Theres about an inch and a half difference.
